The turbo hub caps came out on ALL 15 inch factory steel wheels ( these rims are required to clear the larger brakes) , so both turbo/5ltr in exec and berlina had them fitted . Series 2 berlina had the old VK calais wheels as factory fit . GB , your blue exec pictures has had the pin stripes( on the bumper) added by the dealer or aftermarket fitment as these are the fitted to berlinas out of the factory. Going by your rego yours is an 87 model , proberly has the black door handles but the series 1 trim ( square headrests ) . You proberly already know that the rear headrest fitted in your car werent fitted by holden and i notice you have the factory tow bar fitted , check to see if you have the boot braces fitted ( two bars on the inside of the rear quarter panels.) Jet 5ltr , even though 5800 would be nice you will find 3-4k is the going rate for a stock 5.0. adam

your right about everything except the read head rests as you can see in these photos better im also not sure about the pin stipes but i dont like them so when it gets painted they might go if there not origanal

Thats not the correct dash ! , You should have the rev tach , oil pressure and volts gauge . They are factory fits for the VL turbo / V8 , the radio is correct . My mistake about the headrest , its the front ones i can see . Has it got a disc brake rear end in it? , also what about a 1 inch brake master cylinder? . adam adam

yeah its got the 1 inch master cylinder and disk rear end thats interesting about the cluster its the same as a exec 6, ive got the adress of the origanal owner i think i might pop past and ask them, its a 1 owner car he may have ordered like that so il need to find the build sheet, it also has under bonnet sound deadener does yours also have this hey adam do you have your buil sheet at all, as ive found mine and want to see if the instrument cluster codes are the same thanks brandon

just bumped into an old mate who reckons he recently bought an original single owner (recently deceased) 5.0ltr Executive with 75 000 clicks for $2500. The widow wanted it gone out the driveway and flogged it off cheap. He reckons he'll bring it round my place soon which should be interesting

that sounds great and alot cheaper than mine too can you check the build plate please

mine was a L34 berlina 5ltr

saw one of these parked at the row of shops ner the corner of clayton and centre road. it was red over mx, an exec and had the 5.0 badge and turbo hubbies. 15" rims would have been stock as bigger power = bigger wheels, also the biger booster and master cylinder, and breaks. they should also have a disc 28 spline diff. i was under the impression they have a berlina spec tacho dash aswell. but i am not 10% on that.

have you got your build sheet? i will keep an eye out and ask the owner next time i see one. i would say safely that the silver pinstriping is not stock and the berlina pinstriping is a dealer added option at the most

there was exec v8 on ebay like 3 or 4 weeks ago he was asking 6grand for it.

The manual surround i use is from a HDT or walky , im not sure which but fits into the auto consol without a problem . adam

my mate with the 5.0ltr Exec came past the other day, original 75 000kays which I completely believe. Only mods are a resprayed bottom half to asteroid silver and new internationals as well as new top gun ignition leads, everything else stock standard. It was nice to go in a low kay unmolested VL, she even went pretty good despite the 5.0ltr being classed as a slug. Even had factory optioned LSD which I found surprising. All in all a great car which the ******* picked up for 2500 and apparently got offered 6 for it, but that who knows really

Also just for info sake its an 87 model, it had the 6 cyl Calais cluster with speedo, tach, oil pressure, volts, coolant and voltage. Also had the blue lines on the cluster face. The car was white and had the light grey interior (maybe bluish grey?) and had the original analogue radio. Factory AC, LSD, PWR steer everything else lower spec (manual window winder, side mirrors etc)
