There is a VL in NZ with an R32 IRS setup...was on trademe about 2 years ago...has an RB25det in it they guy stated in the auction questons that it fittes straight in you just have to drill a few holes in wheel arches to mount it....it was in the north island that car was goldy colour

So your missus will let you spend $100,000+ on a VL (probably more like $200,000 if you want it decent), but she won't let you fry tyres at $300 each, which are going to fry regards of AWD or RWD with 700hp???

welcome aboard..big plans....BULK dollars brother!!! i guess you'll be going all out and doing a drag/show/street/dyno monster...might as well ifyouve got the cash there. just a quick list of things i could think of, candy paint $6,000 26 head $800 race prepped rb30 $5,000 or more??? cooler and piping $900 turbos (gt35 35/40ish type items) $1000ea plenum $1200 hi mount manifold to suit twin turbo set up $800?? big brakes $1500 20" rims $3000 custom exaust $900 custom interior (u'd have too really...) $4500 a trans to cope with over 600kw....lets say an automatic: stall kit, trans cooler, the gearbox itself etc, etc $3,000 AWD & custom work $who knows? 10,000?? how much boost would u run? 30+ psi............it will be a bloody animal...when you do it take as all for a ride...id even pay for a drive. check out the rajabs twin turbo set up in there VL Calais..not AWD or 26/30 but fu!kin mint. Quote: awd will obviously have a faster 60' time with street tyres then rwd with more grip. ^not totally true, you have to look at all the factors. the set up comes into play and the driver as well. good luck with the build.

You would be looking at more like $10,000 for a decent motor and another $5,000+ for an ECU and tunning My paint job cost $6,000, so a decent candy inside and out would be $8,000-$10,000 GTR driveline with upgrades to suit 700hp, installation and IRS conversion, rear coilovers etc etc etc - $_____ (anyone want to guess?) The above plus roll cage, NOS, fuelling, brakeage and screw-ups would make it not worthwhile starting a project like this unless robbed banks for a living…

What manual gearbox are you planning to run that will handle the 700hp? Are the stock GTR boxes tough enough?

Many reasons... had it for 10 years, nothing more I really want to do to it, and I don't drive it much. I wanted to go back to factory fitment rims so I didn't have to use a hub locator... much nicer to drive on when the rims fit the hup perfectly... plus I wanted a different look
