They are 18", I get guard rub on both sides on the inside of the rear guards just lightly I've been told to put spacers on but it will then rub on the outside so I'm not to worried as it is ,it's only light

Oh good times then... I didn't think King superlows were as low as Dobi superlows... It would appear i was wrong - unless of course your shocks are compacting the springs a fair amount.
Oh so they are 18's - I thought the were... it just didn't look like it in that picture - maybe because i'm used to mine sitting so high with 18's.
What width are they?? It could just be because of the width and/or offset that they are rubbing. My old 16" Roh ZS's used to rub really bad. When i put the VY SS 18's on i was so suprised how much it didnt rub compared to the ZS's.

What size tyre, rim width and offset?

Yip, it gives you room to put an inch shorter spring in there

Yours looks lower than mine but Alex thinks Dobi's are lower than King's... Doesn't make much sense...
Are you sure you have superlows and not ultras or something?? Also have you got aftermarket strut tops/mounts or just the standard ones?? I have heard that the aftermarket ones add up to 20mm's in height at the front depending on brand.

So you would recommend King's over dobi's?? What Kings have you got in the rear - custom made I guess??
Thanks guys,

Yes and yes
Go see Edgar at Stocks, he was the one who built my setup. He builds race car setups at the NZ Koni workshop http://www.georgestock.co.nz/div_koni_workshop.html

235/40/18 dunlop direzza width 8" and I'm not to sure on the offset they dont have much stamped on them has X114 is that it ?
It should say something like ET40, or 40p on the back of one spoke or on the back of the centre
You should be able to get 235s on an 8" rim not to rub. I have 255/35R19s without any rubbing...
Hey Jason your inbox has been full for a while so I havn't been able to tell you about the swaybar bushes I need.
My book says normal 3L front swaybars are 26mm, but turbo swaybars are only 24mm.. (sounds a bit backward.) what diameter are V8 bars?

OK I'll have another look tomorrow i'll take the wheel off this time something else to think about is the wagon rear wheel arch smaller/narrower because I'm thinking that Holden may of done this to give more room in the rear ?
Yeah might be, have a look at exactly where its rubbing. IE get a couple of fatties to sit in the back of car and bounce
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
If it's rubbing on the inside of the wheel well you'll see where all the dirt has been rubbed off down to the paint/metal (like on my wagon) or if its on the outside you might find bits of rubber stuck between the folds of the metal (like on the front wheels of my sedan )

I'm pretty sure you could "modify" your inner guards slightly using an "FBH*". Just "tap" them in a little where the rub is happening and it should solve your problem. I'm sure this wont cause any issues anywhere else.
*fu#king big hammer!

Yeah I was told to lightly tap away at the guard lips on my sedan, but I ended up just buying a new set of wheels (which look much better). Tell Mike to do that, I've sorted my rubbing issues (as far as I know..)

EDIT : The hammering bit, not the new wheels!!

I have deleted some sh!t now so you should be able to PM me. I'm not sure on the size of them thats why it would be best to measure the one you are planning on using. I would guess it'd be 26mm if it is a V8 one, i think thats what my original one was - but double check anyways.
Later,
Jason
That does look like its rubbing quite a bit. I'm guessing you have an adjustable panhard rod? Is it rubbing equally on both sides?
I think you could probably reshape the inner guards slightly and that should stop the rubbing. The other alternative is if you have space between the outer guard and wheel you could run a thin wheel spacer, although I'm not sure that they are legal any more.

yeah both sides does look bad in the pic but it really isnt that bad and yes I do have a adj panhard rod
the mags are G-Max M190 18"
sorry to dig up an old thread,
'87Calais just wondering if you remember roughly how much you paid for the stuff seperately, namely:bilstein shocks, control arms, trailing arms (upper and lower), and the sway bar link kits?
cheers, Sam
