If you've got one, and get defected, you will have to remove it. You can be defected because of it. Yes, it will give you more power, as you're getting rid of exhaust quicker, and there are less restrictions.

but if it's set up to drop automagically after the rpm stated in the whatever 3000rpm or what not where it needs to be bellow the specific db level, i wonder if you could get it engineered and be sweat I mean they come stock like that on a few cars.... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Why would you want all that noise to attract the police? when converting to turbo i had to make up a bit of pipe between dump and cat, there was about a few mm around the pipe that was not sealed, eg 2 1/2 inch into 3 inch or something. that was loud as, sounded like i was sitting right above the exhaust and felt the thumping. this was only temporary just to get to the exhaust shop. you certainly wont want to be loud for long!

Im thinking about putting one in my car. I would only put it in if I decide to make a 3.5" exhaust. As it would be really loud id put it in the actual exhaust so I could quieten the car down when I want to. I went to a couple of exhaust joints and they are trying to talk me out of a 3.5" exhaust. They say just go 3" and drop it when I race it.

I've seen some that operate on the vacuum of the engine (actuator), they are always advertised in Street Machine. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i think the ideas pretty cool , sorry for the stupid question but what is screamer? how does it work and what does it do? thanks.

A screamer pipe is a pipe that comes off your waste gate, so on full boost, all the extra exhaust gas the turbo does not need is let down a short pipe into the atmosphere.. It only opens on full boost.. so it is VERY loud and good for performance
