What exhaust did you use for yours?
Also, i was told by a mate that: "You have to use V8 VN power steer rack or manual VL one"... True, False??

06-06-08, 21:53 GMT+10#22 i thought the power steering wracks looked the same i was gonna put the v8 power steering wrack from a vn onto the vl but the little knob bit that comes out of the wrack to connect to the clamp that connects to the steering colum (lol a bit confusing) but it was square and the vl clamp is like round with grooves in it so it wouldnt fir anyone know how to get around this? i just put the vl one on and will go with that see how it goes

10-06-08, 09:12 GMT+10#26 the vn diff will fit but is i believe 1 or 2 inches widder each side than the vl so would be fun fitting big wheels on as for the diff a mate has done this and fits fine he used the front half of the vn tailshaft and connected it to the rear vl tailshaft and fits fine they come apart at the uni joint

Don't use a VN diff, they're too wide and no stronger than a VL V8/turbo diff. If its a stock 304 EFI the stock VL diff should be fine
Are you starting with a 3L VL? If so the stock fuel pump is fine for a stock 304

25-06-08, 21:53 GMT+10#35 hey ive just got myself a efi 304 and th700 out of a vr statesman and am about to start putting it into my 3l vl. i have heard that the v8 and 6 cyl floor pans are a different size through the trans tunnel area. does the 6 cyl trans tunnel have to be modified to house the th700 box?

30-06-08, 21:26 GMT+10#37 Hey guys I went to put my 355 in on the wknd into the vl, however finding out that I didnt have a turbo box, had a trimatic. Drama here we come. Now I now that a TH400 is stronger, but having difficulities finding one in brisbane. Located a TH350, and bought it. Now just wondering if anyone knows exactly if I can use the front of the VN tailshaft to connect to the rear half of the vl v8 one?????? And do I have to get a Castlemain Rod Shop crossmember? or does anyone know of one to suit the application? (like modifing the original trimatic one??? Cheers for any help guys
