Ive fitted the clutch and gone for a test drive, but there doesnt seem to be enough in the clutch to disengage the clutch fully so i can change gears easily. As its very hard to change. Also the clutch engages very close to the floor. I was just wondering if i need a adjustable rod from the slave cylinder to gear box lever/fork Im gunna bleed the clutch system and see if that helps??? Is there any way of adjustment on the vl turbo clutch?? Cheers

u adjust it by the master cylinder, or you have air in the system, or a bent fork

I see the master cylinder adjuster now in the manual, i just got my g/f to pump the clutch while i looked at the slave. I didnt think it came right out on the first pump so i got her to hold it to the floor and i could see the slave slowly go back in. Does that mean the the master cylinders ***ed?? It may of been working with a worn (thin) clutch and standard presure plate but now with the increased presure of the new plate it cant push it enough to disengage properly??

there is air in there, or the slave cylinder is leaking, pull the boot back and see if theres fluid there. try bleeding it, and make sure the resorvior is always full as its small and runs out quick Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i have bled it its still the same. Its not leaking oil from anywhere but its not holding presure so could it be the master cylinder??

ok i couldnt get a new spring easily to repair my master cylinder so i lashed out and bought a new master and slave cylinder and bleed the system. Now i still cant put it into gear while the motors running?? ive cheaked the Fork and its not damaged. It said You need to do 600km of normal driving to bed in the clutch, do i just need to try drive it a little to wear it in?? i got no idear whats wrong everything seems to be workin as it should, and i defently installed the clutch properly. anyone got any idears??

try this Motor off, place in 1st gear with clutch in, now start motor. im thinking the input shaft is bound on the spigot bush and will not slip hence u cant get a gear. doing the above will force the shaft to turn and free it up if theres any burrs

yeh i can do that and drive it its just very hard to change to 2nd, 3rd and so on. Do u think it just needs a good drive to bed it in. im going to ring the guy that sold it to me and see what he thinks just Talked to mick from Sunbury Brakes and he seems to think it may be slit wear in the carier of bearing and fork from being a 21yr old car and even tho its minute its enough to effect the throw of the clutch. So he said to extend the rod from the slave to the fork on the gear box by 5mm no more then 10. what do u guys think about that
