Thanks for the feedback, it sounds like nitros still has a place if set up properly but can cause grief if the mechanic doesnt now his stuff, whats it like in turbo 6 applications?
Im also interested in seeing what set-ups are available for turbo 6 cyclinder applications? Obviously it is better to go with a wet system, but what are the limitations of dry setups?
I have a JD plenum on my rb30 and was thinking of running a single dry shot into the xf throttle body with between a 50-150 shot... Is this safe? I know some other things may come into play here, such as tune, compression and the like but all things equal will it be relatively safe? Also if I did use a dry shot and made sure it ran fat when the nitrous was being used would that have similar affects as running a wet system?
If say it isn't safe and you suggest I should go for a wet system, can I use a single wet shot into the throttle body? Will this allow me to run a bigger shot?
I have noticed on some cars that for every cyclinder and wet nozzle can be placed in line with the runner, why is this done? what are the benefits?
I understand why people use nitrous, however im very unsure how to set it up and the limitations of certain set-ups. If someone could share their knowledge with me it would be greatly appreciated...

Why do u want to use n20-if u already have boost-turn the boost up-
they both up the cyclinder pressure- so what's the point-
dry sytems are okay-but they dont allow a tunning error/window-
a fogger per cyc is the way to go-anyone and even the pro's will tell u that-
I am curious to see why u want n20 on a turbo vechile apart from trying to get it on boost-

Just for that little bit extra if I ever want it...
Im only running a t04 have a feeling it may run out of puff for what I want in the future. Obviously I could change the whole turbo set-up to something bigger however its in a torana and having just spent abit of time and money getting this setup right I was thinking the nitrous could help me that little bit more. I may still go a to4Z or similar just weighing up my options.
As you mentioned also, bringing it on boost a touch earlier would be nice as well. It does manage to do it on stall, but only just. Once again, that bit extra would be nice.
Changing to a bigger turbo, could cost me upwards of 2 grand and I reckon I could set up a dry 50-100hp shot for around $500-800... It would also look nice in the hatch next to my fuel set up for that extra wank factor...

Can't I just get a kit off e-bay? Think they are $745? Or no good? Like I said im totally new to this stuff, but I am willing to give it a go and blow up a few things trying... I would be keen to just tinker away and see what happens. Dude im looking for your expertise if you would share it with me, tell me what you would do? Im keen to listen and learn...

Dean if i was u the most honest answer was to save your money and upgrade to a bigger turbo setup-because if u look at it this way
turbo and n20 are both power adder's- so i reckon u are wasting your time by running both power adders at the same time-
if u want to speak to someone that is really on the ball-speak to 6boost about a bigger turbo-
if u still want to go the n20 route-i would advise for the 6 cyclinder import kit from nos- comes with 6 foggers and all the neeeded parts-
capable of 0-250 or 300hp from memory-only as a 1 stage kit-
u can purchase it from rocket from memory i paid about 1400-1650 3 years ago for my rb26 engine-
Nick--
No worries mate, thanks for the advise. I might just leave the current setup on for awhile, see what I can run with it how it is, and upgrade to a bigger turbo later.
Out of interest how'd the nos go on your rb26? Was it turbo'd?

i would be lying if i said i did it-i have not even had time to do anything apart from getting parts for it-
i bought it because i thought i would have a problem getting it on boost as i bought a big arse turbo for it-but how times have change in exhaust manifoild design's-turbo's and blow-off valves-and efi hardware-
seems any big turbo can work in 95% of case's without too much drama's-
I might just put it on for a bling/wank factor has i have it so i will just make it look pretty-when i get around to doing the job-
Nick--
Yeah, half the reason I want it is wank factor, having that blue bottle in my rana is a massive attraction but I also want to learn about it, what works and what doesn't, and also about different set-ups... I see the massive potential it has and as you mentioned above love how it can be turned off for street use, but when things get serious you have the extra power...
Thanks again for the advise, I may still have a fiddle with it soon but see how we go.
