How about a large turbo above left side of rear axle close to exhaust outlet, hi comp motor (9:1) with extractors feeding the turbo, Pipe from turbo outlet on right side of car (finned aluminium) feeding the plenum with large AFM on end of resonator and large reed valve. As turbo would be near outlet at atmospheric pressure it would run efficiently, long pipe on way back to inlet acts as intercooler, Reed valve on resonator at inlet would give *immediate* response as there would be no need for the turbo to spool up at all (ie. Air filter on turbo intake and air filter on reed valve inlet, reed switches over when boost present) Benefit of extractors on exhaust etc Now THAT would be very different, have zero turbo lag, turbo runs cooler and lasts longer, front of engine cleaned up and a very unique setup Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Well, 100% stock and not only looking like brand new but feeling, smelling and driving like brand new. For a VL that's quite different. I'm rapidly finding out that to bring the wagon back to "as new" spec I'm looking at about the same amount it cost when brand new (35K), if not more. New parts, paint, upholstery, engine rebuild, the lot. For the cheapskates out there, when I say I'm using all new parts this doesn't mean different parts from another car in better condition, it means all brand spanking shiny new parts collected over the last twenty years. It would have been cheaper to modify it but you know that'll never happen. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
