way to expensive mate the most id pay is 5g for an immac n/a calais.
i think your getting shafted , my old man works at a car yard and they would have picked that up for fcuk all and put a massive mark up on it...id say look around a bit more as its not going to go anywhere anytime soon and if you cant find something cheaper and nicer , you can alsways go bakc and buy that. btw id also be asking to see service history and log books ...ESPECAIILY buying a car from a yard.

yer its got 100% full service history, serviced every 5000kms. its only had one owner, and has been in storage for a few years, runs perfect though. i had a mechanic give it a once over and its all good. $7300 is a reasonable price after looking for calais's for the past month or so, there are some original stock ones around the $10,000 mark! The dealer is just selling it on consignment for the owner, so the dealer isnt making much money from it.
Anywho, im going to finalise it on monday so ill giv her a detail and throw some pics up!
oh and 'mavrck', i saw you on pittwater road in narrabeen a few weeks ago, had a good check out of ur car too!! u might remember my white vp wagon with a group a scoop and 17" VR clubby wheels?

i honestly think its worth it the car looks very neat from the photos. needs a lil TLC but thats a standard thing with any vl... i paid $6200 for my series 1 n/a calais going back 3yrs ago it was one of the most expensive calais on the market, had no rust, always garaged, log books, immac interior, resprayed in 2pac, all electrics worked... IMO at the end of the day you get what you pay for...

yeh sounds alot like this one, repsrayed in 2 pac, one owner, genuine log books, all electrics working (aside from rear pwr windows), straight as an arrow, clean as interior, original tape deck... in the end i was after a completely unmolested original calais, and thats wat ive found, so i couldnt be happier

It's only worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
I think it's getting harder and harder to find something in that sort of condition these days. Good ones are becoming collectors item's these day's so that's the reason for the price increase. The only thing that bothers me is that it is from a yard and i'd hate to think how much they paid for it. I remember selling my Burgundy N/A about 5 years ago for $7400.
To be honest, i'd rather buy this one for a little more than buying one privately from some shonky prick for $4000 when the car is worth F.A.
...and you've got bugger all chance of getting them to fix the windows in NSW as well.

yeh i think the windows is just a wiring issue, no big drama i hope. And yeh, as i said its not the dealers car, they are just selling it under consignment for the owner so they're not making much money from it

we sold a car at work that had 90,000 same colour too i think we got 4300 for it and it was mint, thought it was the same car at first but our one had black on the bottom of the front and rear bar, is is hard to start at all, if it had a valve stem seal problem it smoke would be blue/white does the smoke smell funny could be head gasket lots of condensation coming out the exhaust at all

Well i had another look at it yesterday afternoon, and there was no smoke at all when i started it, so it may have just been that it was sitting in the yard for a while, not too sure though.

yeh thats how i got them from $7990, down to $7300 with 12 months rego starting tomorrow. They wont go any lower than that, but im still very happy with the price after looking at some for around the $8000-9000 mark, with more problems than this one.

the reason the rear power windows dont work is probably due to the child lock.
Its the big button under the steering wheel.
