actually a vs is lighter than a vt....
they would be around the same, vt motors had 179kw factory,vs has 165kw.
take into factor the power difference, and they would be almost equal.
unless you went the series 3.
and no vs does not have the 355 clearance, only the series 3 vs block does.
ive ran a vt clubby and beat it by a car length... but then agian it had 3" pipes so it would of been loseing back pressure... and ive had work done on my transmission...
not to sure theres a few floating around on carsales. my budget is 10gs. a 5.7would b nice but not for that price i no. thanx for the advice. not after a plain vs, statos are slighty more unique in my opinion.
i would never buy a VT 5ltr when u can get one with a geno. And its through my experience i have found that a 5ltr vt get chewed by just about anything. The calais' are really nicley decked out tho, il give it that.
yer vt' 5ltr's were never a fast car.. but htey have great options to gain power.
my best bet would be a vs series 3 ute or statesman.
that way u get the light vs chassis, with the 179kw vt roller motor
and no vs does not have the 355 clearance, only the series 3 vs block does.[/quote]
Ok I guess you know better than everyone else then . The VS model didn't come out with the stroker option did it . Neither did the VR .
those motors were clearanced.
the standard blocks didnt have the clearance.
ive built quite a few vn - vs 5ltr motors dude. they do not have clearance in a standard 5ltr.

Trust me late VR onwards are clearanced . Why would they cast 2 different blocks ? They're all clearanced from VR onwards to suit the Harrop crank . To go 383 you got to get the inside of the block/bottom of the bores clearanced
Not from what I understand. I have a VS block and have talked to engine builders about stroker options and they have all said the block needs to be cleared for the crank
VS ute, and VT S1 are cleared though
the interior of the plain vs are just plain a bit compared to the statesman and how much of a better ride they are, also with the vt calais interior just more modern.
....right so we've gone from how fast are they to how soft is the seat.
i dont mean to sound rude....but do you actually know what you want from a car.
I think the problem is he kind of asked in general which is better. He never really asked which had the roller cam and clearance for the stroker crank
If it's comfort and reliability hes going for then the VS Stato is the one to go for
well the roller cam came from the potential to stroke the motor....because unless you blow it, your not getting anywhere.
but i agree with Alex....if you want a cushy ride...the Stato
and then sit it down on its arse with some 20s...
*here we go again* hahaha....arent cars fun.
