scrub city. wont be able to take passengers and the choice you will get on narrower 22's to fit with minimal scrub will be very limited.. most of them are wider for 4x4's and stuff... stick with 19's or hsv 20's anything over that is gay
I've got 20's now and was thinking about going the route of fitting 22's......
The biggest problem i can see is keeping the car at a decent ride height so that it doesnt look like a tractor, so a lot of dollars would need to be spent on getting the suspension sorted - i reckon that would probably be the biggest expense

You have a bright green VL with 20" chrome rims... The next logical step would be the shiniest 22s you can find. But why stop there, you may as well go straight to 24s

I agree with the big rims look gay statment.
19's maybe 20's in the right situation, anything bigger just looks rediculous.
Although some people like the big rim alfoil fad, each to their own I guess..
Anything 20in or over needs to be a spoked design to have a chance of working imo... look at 22INCH and BLOJOB/ACKER, both of them still looked classy, classier than say a VL with cheap looking flat chrome 18s or 19s...
I guess what i'm saying is that it's not all about size- the finish/style also has alot to do with whether wheels will work or not. Having said that, the small looking VB-VL wheel arches don't particuarly lend themselves well to large diameter wheels though, generally speaking (in my own opinion).
I like what jack said, it depends on the style of the wheels and finish. Personally, i HATE chrome. If u want wheels with a big dish u can always get FR 19's

Spend the balance on good tyres.
You cant see the wheels when your driving.
yes, i agree with u, but japanese rims dont just bolt up to VL's.
the offset and PSD are different.

they are a expensive rim, but its not like your changing them every 2 months, you'd be keeping them for at least a year or so so i recon its worth spending abit extra for a nice set of rims which are almost gauranteed to set the car off. Eg Fr's, vx gts, vy gts ect theres a big range ! my opinion anyhow gl

i was thinin a nice set of billets a agree it all depends on the rims id dosent matter wat size or finish its all about the actual rim itself there are plenty of 22s now at 8.5 wide even 8 so scrubbin is no differnt to 20s. im just ordering my coilovers now and if it scrubs to much in the rear ill just tub it lol,

Well, i think you need some sort of kit when putting such huge rims on a car... wheels need to be filled out, (not like a shopping trolley)- as previously stated, but ofcourse mate... watever is floatin your boat, is what should be done...........

Owww just dont race it, otherwise you'll get ragged...
How Low are you expecting this thing to sit? Because with the 22's its going to literally sit 'higher' than stock...

do you know the price of billets?
i priced 18x8 fronts and 20x10 rears for my tonner, with 5 inch backspacing.. quote was a tad under 6k without tyres.
No point putting billets on if they're not dished!
