I really hate the sound of positive displacement blowers.... F*cking great on a Door slammer not so great on a street car... i dunno... that pd whirl sounds like bliss to me! so i'm guessing procharger is better than vortech?

yep. but they dont come in a full kit with brackets etc. you have to get them made up. luckily this kit has all the bits and pieces Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

without obviously being too technical, what the main difference that sets them apart from the vortech blower?

What manual box you running? Unless its T56 it will need a fair bit of beefing.

do it man, my mate has a f1 procharger in his pontiac..it makes close to 700 hp and has much more to go..when he comes down my street it literally sounds like an aeroplane and the spool of the blower is incredible ...big enough to flow 38 psi ... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

VT S1 Getrag... should be good for the power I will be making Quote: Originally Posted by MaD_WoG pistons will go bang, get forgies Not from what I understand. Pistons only go bang with that sort or power/boost if the timing isn't setup properly and if you don't have enough fuel going in Do you have some expert knowledge on this kind of setup you would like to share? To answer your question For the Vortech LS1 Kits the V2 is the alocated blower its specs are as off CAPA's site and also the specs from Prochargers site for the D-1SC-1 unit Vortech V-2 SQ Trim Superchargers The new generation supercharger included in most Vortech street supercharging systems Helical cut gear profile with SQ technology Near silent operation Fits engines up to 680 horsepower Maximum airflow: 1,000 CFM Maximum boost pressure: 20 PSI Maximum impeller speed: 50,000 RPM Adiabatic efficiency: 72% Available with straight or curved discharge and clockwise or counter clockwise rotation Procharger Model D-1SC Volute Diameter 9" Max Supercharged HP 925 Base HP Range of Motor (Naturally Aspirated) 300-500 Max Flow (cfm) 1400 Max boost (psi) 32 Inlet Hose Diameter 3.75" Inducer Diameter 3.37" Exducer Diameter 6.25" Outlet Hose Diameter 3" Outlet I.D. 2.62" Max Impeller RPM 62,000 Internal Step-up 4.10:1 Reverse Rotation Available Yes Self Contained Yes Oil Capacity 6Oz As you can see the Procharger out blows the Vortech by a whole 400CFM and when it comes to making power with Forced Induction CFM is first anf foremost...... You'll also notice the Max supercharged HP out put is 245HP short with the Vortech... Hope that answers your question Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yep prochargers eat vortechs for lunch, but you pay for it, thats for sure! seeing as your getting it in kit form cheap, you're laughing imo that getrag wont last long mate, not with the way youll be driving it with that kind of power Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It will only be around 250rwkw and the Getrag was brand new last year with 6 puck clutch and light fly... only driven around 1,000kms since, so it's not likes it's half worn already I wont be doing many skids anyway Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

You'll actually be surprised.. if you have the iron case getrag... which a VT Series 1 does.. they are a big box and you probably wont have issues...they are a big box...really big... its the alloy case getrags that are weak..

Yeah that's what I thought. The reason for buying it was because they are meant to be strong

this is now giving me ideas. someone mentioned before the procharger comes on its own, so you have to source the rest yourself. Obviously Alex got his cheaply. What do you fella's reckon it would cost drive in drive out price for a procharger on a vt series 1 gts. Its got the 6 speed so box is plenty tough, might need a new clutch though? Whilst not trying to hijack your thread Alex...save me crerating a new one.... think of the avatar as a source of discipline.....lol Quote: Originally Posted by EAT-30T Hope that answers your question that it does Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

clutch, procharger, injectors, tune, brackets... much much much more than alex paid lol

i figured...just curious how much more. should have some money to burn early next year....just seeing what will be best.... ultimately would rather a single turbo v8...

Mine doesn't come with everything so the bits and pieces are being made up, but it is drive in drive out for that price. The place that is doing it has done most of the work on my car and he is quiet at the moment so it's a good cash deal The T56 will be fine! But you will need a new clutch - I paid around $1,500 for my custom clutch and light flywheel, but you will probably get it cheaper off the shelf in OZ
