been told that my motor may need a rebuild. so if it does i'll probably go for the 8. one of my mates said he'll help me put it in. and reckons we'll have it in the 1st w/e. or i'll try and find a good turbo motor or another n/a one. more then likley just go with the v8 if that turns out to be the case though. cheers.

Twin Turbo LS2.
No realisticly go the V8. I love VLTs, but I love the sound of a V8 VL. Oh and the old boy's 5L rocks.
Something a RB powered VL doesn't have over a V8, is torque.

If i was you i'd definately go a V8, even carb motor too. IF your smart and can do work yourself it doesnt take much $$$ to get a thumper. So much easier to work and alot better for street driving. Im not anti turbo but dont let anyone tell you they are better bang for buck. People say boost up turbo and run a cooler then your set, but what about injectors? what about computer? what about the stock gearbox? what about the standard bottom end? you can boost up and run cooler to get 12's or whatever but that'll turn into 6 month down the strip after things get blown to pieces. Plus with a V8 you dont have to wait for any turbo lag, just jump on the throttle and let the torque do its thing. Then later down the track you can invest in a stroker kit, if its well built and running with a proper set up 10's down the strip shouldnt be a problem. But at the end of the day we can all only give advice but its up to YOU to have a think about and get what makes you happiest

How can you say a V8 has more torque? has anyone seen a dyno of a turbo 6? look at the F6 Typhoon for example and you will find they produce more torque than a Phase 3 GT did.
And I hope you realise that all the VLT standard gear is capable of 12's all day everyday, I couldn't count how many people have run 12's with standard bottom end, injectors, computer, fuel reg and fuel pump. It's a simple and well known fact that a VLT is the best bang for buck over a V8 especially when you've already got the farkin engine and turbo in the car! If you chuck a stock 308 in then expect to be running 16's lol
