you cant stop a young person from trying to test themselves as its forced on them in every other aspect of their lives from school through to work they are told to better themselves in life so its only natural that their driving skills are tested as well, unfotunately for HOONS there is a time and a place for such things in a car and it is not the right thing to test on public roads when putting safety of others at risk.I beleive the "hoons" are the ones that probably dont consider the safety factor as important as everyone else, and this is coming from a self confessed hoon that is starting to see sense in his later years(30's)lol. So boys and girls be careful when and where you play as the moment is not always worth it. steps down off soap box

There are tons of things the general public dislikes.. the fact of the matter is, childhood obesity is more of a risk and WILL kill countless more people than some bloke doing a skid will. The media and police really need to see that a very small minority are actual "hoons" I got done for chirping my tyres while travelling at 40kmh changing gears.. now to me thats petty.. the people that tip oil on the roads to do skids is what i would label as hoon behaviour, or doing 200km+ down the freeway in a heap of **** commo with brakes that in no way will pull em up. If this researcher wants to see what all the fuss is about, and why people like nice cars.. strap her into CGMFLY and take her for a spin around the block a few times.. if she isnt cuming in her panties from the huge adrenaline rush, then I'll donate $50 to her research personally. ^^^^ werd I will admit that i am a bogan, and that is merely put down to the fact that i love the sound, smell, feel of a modified car. But to be labeled as a hoon simply because I own a holden or a ford or what ever make of car it may be is crap. They are going the wrong way about trying to control what I do actually consider myself to be a problem. I am yet to here of any public forum where I can express ideas of how to control the problem, the only thing I have seen are "Anti-Hoon" advertisements that have been made by people whom have a limited and biased view of what counts as a "Hoon". Car clubs like this one have gone out of their way to enforce a safe driving policy when cruises are made, a simple no tolerance rule is enforced and in some occasions the police are even informed of the cruise route for greater control. Yet not once have the police actually stepped forward and thanked the "car enthusiast" as a community for their co-operation in helping to make the roads safe. They cant see the difference between enthusiasts and hoons, and I will admit that it can be hard to tell the 2 apart at times, but taking the simple way out and placing everyone under the hoon label is not helping their cause, and I feel that the problem will only get worse unless they are willing to get educated and liase with the right people and realise that not everyone with a V8 or tubocharged car is hoon. I am pretty sure I had point somewhere, but I feel it has been lost somewhere in my rant. Christian Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Morgz, i think everyone needs to stop worrying about about the precise meaning of the term 'hoon' as that bogs down the discussion and creates angst. it's clearly about a certain type of behavior, people should simply stop getting offended about the term IF it doesn't apply to them and get to the point All Holden Day yesterday was attended by lots of off duty HWP and other cops, i spoke to 4 who identified themselves and they loved my car and cars generally One moron at the end of the day in a blue VK was doing burnouts as he left: only one fool amongst all the hundreds that attended the day and displayed their cars, he was the type that deserved the 'hoon' label
