Exactly. You can pick up an early ex-Police XR6 Turbo for under $20k nowaday's.
Drive-in drive-out with donor car, I wouldn't be suprised if this sort of conversion get's pretty close to that figure dollar wise ($20k).

very good factory power plant-
even though its a ford-credit must be given-
i reckon it would make a good but weird conversion-
better than a 13b or 20 b conversion in a vl -that i saw 1 year ago or so-

bit silly to do that to a vl. go get a banged up ea for a couple hundred and slap it in alot easier and cheaper. this topic has been covered before search button is your friend

The EA should be running in a few weeks. Its at a workshop having the ECU done but they are taking their time.
Its not supposed to look like anything special. It had a bodykit and wheels and stuff before and everything was colour coded but I put it back to stock. Not worth the effort with the cops these days.
Im not the best at maintaining shiny paint jobs either. Low maintenance cars are more my thing.
I mainly did it because the XR6T motor has more off the shelf aftermarket support than the SOHC motor, rods, pistons etc. There are a few going around with over 500rwkw which is the end goal. Its not going to happen overnight though.
Its an NA motor with a GT51R on it atm. It should make 300 pretty easily.

Don't waste your time. Buy a XR6T or VLT that's it.
I'm one of the lucky ones who own both, The VLT is a better "Thrash" car and cheaper.
