Without an insurance policy in his name, your done for. Take him to court, it will cost you money, and you will get a few bucks a week for the rest of your life. Try and salvage some of the car, and save up for another dude. It sucks, but at least your ok. Cars can be replaced man - life can't.

i reckon if the car u own is worth nothing n parts r easy 2 get n ur a good, sensible driver, then its not worth having insurance imo unless ur car is a theft bait like vls then its worth getting 3rd party unless u only paid $500 for an na vl then i wouldnt bother getting even 3rd party, but thats just me If insurance couldnt make money, they wouldn't be around. like casinos i heard somewhere that the average person is involved in an accident once in every 7 years

This happened to a mate recently... Same deal, but the guy that hit him sold his car and came up with the cash for him... You can only hope he does the same, as that's all you can hope for, otherwise as said you'll be getting a couple a bucks from him each week till its paid off! It sucks...

My guess is with an agreed value nudging $20k, the premium is more like $2k through one of the very few companies that will insure a car with countless mods.
