i sprayed mine too cos i had some chrome paint laying around. it looks a lot better but doesn't really light up the road any better than before i did it. i'm getting some cash together to get some off ebay. i might do this since the rest of my lights are in good nick. good article

Just a warning with spraying the headlights, on the chrome paint it says not to expose it to temperatures over 50* Celcius. Im sure it will get alot hotter than that... That being a given, i sprayed mine...but chucked a clear coat of heat resistant (650*) paint over the top. They look a million times better than they did, and if they melt...they melt.

i remember getting the chrome refelctors for about 30 bucks each (stuff ebay, any thing for VL calais seem to be overpriced) from a wrecker who dealt with new aftermarket stuff, changed the old dull ones over, kept the GMH glass covers (giving them a really good inside out clean) and they look like a new original original set

I don't care what anyone says though, I've saved (and made!) so much on ebay it's not funny. Just tread wisely thats all Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

has anybody had problems with the headlight sitting a bit low. im not sure if its just me but my aftermarket lights seem to sit pretty low you can see the clips that hold the glass to the light.

huh.. i haven't seen that before but i know a lot of the time peoples front apron isn't straight and there are all sorts of gaps between lights and the metal... i just did a quicker swap of the gmh lense onto a set of new tys headlights. easy job and the results are awesome.
