I'd probably prefer the Alpine one. Why does the ebay Pioneer one have 2 units with it? I thought that the unit the screen is attached to is the only one you needed to run CD/DVD's? Where does the other one go?

^^^^ that looks fantastic, how hard was it to move the aircon stuff across to the other side? mine currently looks like this which i really hate, plus i don't have any aircon controls (or aircon / fans controls either how hard is it for u to make another one of them, i have a double din jvc head unit and a wolf hand controller i would love to mount in there let me know interested in buying one off u if u could make it! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Magnum06, its only one unit. It has a motorised 7" screen; when its open, the face sits behind the screen. I've never liked the look of Alpine units, always thought Pioneer killed them in that department. But each to their own!

Moving the aircon stuff wasnt too bad but you have to increase the wire harness and vacum lines by about 30 cm whch is a bit of a pain. Making another one would be damn near impossible man. My lower dash had to be completely cut into 3 pieces, Steering column, Glove box and centre console. The steering column bit bolted back in as normal, i moved the glove box forward so it sits flush with the crash pad (instead of having that litte overhang) The whole centre section is custom made from a vs console with a lot of sheet plastic fibreglass and an MDF frame on the inside to mount up the gear. That's a USB Touch screen thats in there and i'm building up a mini-PC to go behind it and run this... http://www.gnetcanada.com/dd-carpc-s...e-overview.asp (http://www.gnetcanada.com/dd-carpc-software-overview.asp) 200 gigs of media stored in the car and all controlled by one source... Looks the goods anyways, very different, nice work Thanks for the feedback mate, i'm most likely trimming the whole dash in suede roughly the same colour the console is now. it's pretty out there i kno but I just had this idea one day of a full-on in car computer to run all my media... This is the only way i could make it happen Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
