looks like i been using the wrong fuel. I had couple bad experiences on
ultimate and have stayed clear ever since, maybe i should give it another go..

like sugar in the petrol tank-did nothing
mothballs in the tank-made it rev its tits off really cleanly
bleach in the oil-cooked the engine till it siezed in about 2 mins
I seen this episode too, i wonder whats in the balls to have such an
effect like that? maybe its like nos or somethin.

link doesn't work
Ultimate 98 here... find it gives you more km's to the tank over other fuels
As I can get V-Racing cheaper through work I refuse to use it as it seems to drink it... as in I get almost twice the amount of km's on 98 than 100 octane.
It is more suited to newer performance cars like V8's n stuff.

ultimate for me, then synergy, if desperte i will use shell... (i have heard shell's fuel has some **** in it that attracts water, and stores it)
wont ever touch caltex, safeway or any of those other "home brand" petrol stations
Anytime I used BP ultimate, my car lost a whole heap of power. I've been using S8000 for a while now and it seems to be pretty good and the one time I used V-power my car ran the best it ever did.
Everyones car is different I suppose.
Ultimate, because its the closest, and they seem to have the most consistant fuel round here.
Won't touch fuel @ independant servos, don't know what **** u might be getting

BP Ultimate.
- No Ethanol (most of the new "high octane" fuels coming out are helped up to thier octane rating by ethanol. Shell Optimax is now one of them).
- Fairly high octane rating (98 - good enough for most street applications)
- Proven track record (been around for ages, never heard anything bad of it).
Ever since I have owned my Calais Turbo, I have ONLY used BP Ultimate. Sometimes the prices give me the ****s, but the above reasons keep me coming back.
To be precise, here's some stats about fuel usage in my car ever since i purchased the car on 15th December 2003 until 8th Feb 2007 (have been slack in updating - have heaps to update).
- Litres used : 8,456.45 Litres.
- Cost : $9,328.48
- Average fuel price : 110.3 c/L
- Total Kms travelled : 61,897
- Average Fuel consumption : 7.32 km/L (13.66L/100km)
- Average cost per km : 15.07 c/km
- Average kms per day : 54 kms.
- Longest trip on 1 tank fuel : 526 kms
- Most Litres in a fill : 62.85 Litres (un-surprisingly related to the above trip)
- Average cost per Day for Fuel : $8.14
- Highest c/L paid : 147.0 c/L on 27th July 2006
- Lowerst c/L paid : 84.0 c/L on 15th Feb 2004
If your wondering... yes I am a geek, and I log all my fuel reciepts in a custom built spreadsheet.
wtf man you must be so organised.
Its interesting you when you think about petrol costing 15c per km, wear and tear on your car would probably amount to 5c per km.
The big oil problem and rising petrol prices is going to send us all broke...
bp ultimate is my favourite only because synergy is not available in my area
according to a local workshop owner elf fuel is no good down low only up top

if you got it from the BP out near Blacklocks in Lavi that would explain it. My mate races karts and he got his fuel at that servo once, had someone do a test on the fuel because he blew his motor at a meet, the tests showed dirt/pebble granules in the fuel... hardly anyone uses that servo now because of the bypass... the one near Nouriel is good... i run both my VLT's on ultimate from that servo, never had a problem
I tried different fuels when I got my first CT and found Ultimate to give me the best performance overall, without fail. Never had a problem with it at all.
I won't ever touch Optimax again unless I am really really desperate, even then I'll just put 5 bucks in to get me to a BP
Reasons being, the car seemed to run like a pig on it, especially once I got to half a tank or less, I lost around 10-20 kms that I would normally have gotten out of the Ultimate.
Also 90% of Shell servo's up here have **** old pumps that don't fill properly, then when your close to full they give no warning and throw fuel back out all over the paint. Not to mention there is usually a line up of "thrifty" shoppers filling up their excels and swifts, with their 4c discount docket, even though the price is 3c higher than the next servo up the road...
I used Vortex Gold a few times when I really needed fuel and there was nothing else around, couldn't complain with it, fuel efficiency wasn't as great as the Ultimate, but the car ran fine.
I can't honestly say I've used Synergy 8000, I haven't seen any servo's with it around here.

yep any old 91 for the n/a, and utlimate, optimax (that's what it was called back when my car actually drove haha) or synergy for the calais, don't go near boost98 or Vortex 98
