12-05-07, 23:02 GMT+10#22 John, I hope you're not serious, everyone has been waiting for your new drag car to hit the track.
Yeah I know theres lots of bitching etc, but **** them and do this for yourself! I'm sure you've really been looking forward to pilot the new PANNIC after all the time and money spent on it, anyone would be damn keen to race it if they were in that situation.
Dont throw it in because of a few retards!
Cheers

13-05-07, 00:53 GMT+10#24 pannic to me makes up a large part of vl drag racing john for you to pack up your bags due to sh*t kickers and haters is wrong its letting them win. every car that has come out of your work shop has set some sort of bench mark, platnum voted best vl by the people, pannic witch set the bench mark for 3 years, vlgmh held the calais record for about a yr,caushn secound time out 8's off the trailer un herd of!!!, exchsr fastest manual (et) so much to mention in 2004 you opened up your work shop to the public and they got a taste of how good your work shop really is and since then your business has grown to proble the biggest vl work shop in australia/world please dont sell your cars due to low life scum that god should never have given breath to keep at it and take out even more records
and for the record i have never given john or danny a cent i just love there cars

13-05-07, 10:19 GMT+10#27 Sad to hear john,People don't understand what you go through ,they just see the track side to the story they don't see the hard work that goes into working on all the cars so they can race,so much time away from the family. The question is what happens to the shop and also the cars that haven't finished?Or is it the racing part that you are giving up?

13-05-07, 10:23 GMT+10#28 Sad News, There really is a lack of tracks in Victoria, Many 1/8th mile but who wants that, We want 1/4 mile tracks and alot closer to melb instead of out in the "Bush".
John, My father in law Joe needs you to keep racing so he can use your old C16 drums to make water tanks, That seems to be his new hobby, He's possessed with making drum tanks.

13-05-07, 10:49 GMT+10#30 I don't think an airport runway can compare to a dedicated 1/4 mile track lol...
Why sell up and give it away, thats just letting those greedy ****sucking ****s at calder win. Take it to Heathcote. What you do on the track reflects on your business name and reputation, something that has taken years to build, why do you want to let it go so fast? If anything, having a set back like that would only want to push me harder and faster at a different track to stick it up their ass and to show them what their missing out on.

Goodluck mate.

13-05-07, 10:58 GMT+10#32 calder sux? yep i agree, we should all ban calder and take our drag racing to heathcote, the staff there and the owner russell are exelent there, and its a relaxed place to drag, if we all get our mate's and boycot calder maybe they will wake up 2 them selfs, cheers

13-05-07, 11:12 GMT+10#33 i agree with what many have said.
don't give up your passion john, everyone can see how much you love bringing pannic out and ripping the biggest burnout out and then lining her up and popping the transbrake all for that feel good feeling for just over 8 seconds before the heavy braking begins.
don't let these little 16 yo talkers and workshop hangers (war starters) make you walk from the track. i agree about calder though, but like I said a bit earlier just race it at heathcote, you'll get more runs in and less b*tching.
and, if you really are going to let the cars go, at least go out in style and hold on a dyno day and show the cars off. i know you said you will be racing at heathcote but a dyno day will at least let people get their last glimpses of pannic and ypanik close up and give people to come down again and check out the shop.
pannic was the reason I (and i'm sure) many got into and bought vl's. it was the first 8 second vl and one of the (if not the) biggest named vl's around. Like when I came down and spoke to you, everytime i hear pannic is coming out i run down to calder - i don't care if it runs an 8 or 9 or 10, its entertainment and pannic puts on the best show a vl can.
in short, enjoy your car and stuff what everyone else says and thinks, we all know you love mashing that accelerator

13-05-07, 11:24 GMT+10#34 its alot more behind it then 16 year old sh1t talkers off ct... there the least of his worries.
its unfair sportsmanship. bigtime jelousy and petty attacks from other camps.
calder park and everyone there are a bunch of wankers and got no idea whats going on.
none of the guys that see how hard john busts his balls and any customer would agree they wont let john packup and quit drag racing and leave this scene. johns spent to many hours away from home/family and other important things with them at the shop and working to get customers cars finished and then after his finished doing that getting his racecar 1 step further..
ypanic and pannic are here for the long run and here to break and hold onto the records like first planned.

some how mate i dont think boycotting calder will do much as most of the attendants at calder are people with old school 8s aswell as the new breed of ls1 and fords both 8s and turbo 6s and then there are skylines and imprezas and other assorted jap cars.
on a good night there might be say 10 of the quickest vls around tops and the remaining 100-200 cars are as described above so the vls are only the minority even though they put on a good show.
not good to hear for many im sure but sometimes its good to turn a new leaf in the chapter of life and move along. i think alot of people dont realise that building cars of these calibres come with constant stress and alot of other factors come into the equation.
good luck with it all.

13-05-07, 11:43 GMT+10#39 hey john sorry to hear about this but ultimately in the end the decision is yours. There will be alot of sad faces if u do end up going through with this ill say one thing though you and danny should hold your heads up high as your attitude towards your cars and your customers and one of the best in the business, when i came down that weekend i was blown away by your service and generally just the way your workshop was presented. best of luck with your future endeavours
