The next best thing is to buy a unfinished project that has worked motor gearbox and diff...fuel pumps and lines injectors etc...save up a bit more cash cause there is a vl in the for sale section that has the pontetial to run 10's...that will be your best bet as building the motor g/box are easy but you gotta do things like tail shaft bigger fuel lines pumps computer which will cost you another $6 K + before you know it!
ahahahah soooo many ideas!!!! i dont know wat to do.... ahahaha but things like forged bottom end and gearbox and ecu are always gonna have to get done so i may as well do them so at least i know my engine is ready for watever i wanna do to it... well see how it goes anyway thanx guys

buy a house while your young mate trust me give it a couple years an then you could build an animal of a vlt trust me mate i bought my first house when i was 21 an have never looked back best thing i ever done if i wanted i could go do a 9-10 sec vlt if i wanted but got bigger plans with my money an future to go blow 20-30k on a car an then sell it for 15 k in 2 years but hey mate no matter what any1 says its your coin an u should do with it what you want as your the 1 thats earned it g/l with your choice of mods mate
i would go trick up the auto a bit stronger an go forgies an good ecu like motec or autronic an that would prolly be ya 10k spent as ya got to allow for labour an it dont come cheap unless you do it all ya self g/l
Get a KEAS auto built and put a good 28 spline mini spooled diff or even 31 spline mosers its not that dearer to do and will never have to worry about it again
Then work out what you can do with the change you have left
No point spending 10 grand then blow the auto or the diff and the car is stuck at home ****ed and you cant fix it cause you have no money left

couldnt agree more well said thats what i would be doing
Just do your homework before throwing the cash around you might regret it later in life that spending money on cars is not everything but your 18 too young still

i'd say get engine done gearbox computer & fuel setup done first or save some more $$$$$ so u can get turbo and manafold at the same time that way u can save abit of money u won't need to tune it twice
second option u could do is do everything else but the engine and make sure u got a few spare engines ready to throw in if they blow unless u want to cruise it on low boost till u get an engine done

That's what I'd do, get a good box in it, forged pistons, head and cam and a microtech, maybe some gtr injectors.
i know when i was 18 the 10gs would have been going into the vl, but after hearing so many stories of people blowing their budgets and then something they overlooked ****s up, i would be inclined to get a newer car with the power already there from factory. but we are all different and passionate about other things
i think im just gonna sell my vl that i own now and buy one that has already been done properly... im considering jazza88's calais turbo from here... can any1 vouch for that car? good nick?
yer good point i guess but i dont really wanna spend 25gs on a vl that i know ill never drive on the street... id rather spend 12gs on a nice calais turbo that has power and if i decide to do sum other little mods then i can do that... and btw my car is worth more than 5gs ahahah

easy, 10k, save it, sell your vl 2 - 5k, then catch the train for a bit longer and save even more and buy something OTHER THAN A VL!! mb an old classic like a 67 mustang.. ahhhhhh so nicee.. lol....
