Because the police own the car? lol..
Some wank steals a car, regardless of which car or who owns the car it doesnt matter what the reasons are, they get busted! Same as cops going undercover as drug dealers.. the drug dealers cant say ohhhh but I didnt know ur a cop, if I did.. I wouldnt of done drugs!!

[noun] a defense that claims the defendant would not have broken the law if not tricked into doing it by law enforcement officials
There is no trickery involved in parking a car somewhere.. and an opportunistic theif will sieze the moment regardless... its not entrapment, nice try.. dumbass
LOL @ lure..
that would imply any car theif taking ANY car would be entrapment, simply coz the car was there for the taking. your simply repeating what Im saying.

25-05-07, 15:27 GMT+10#34 Morgz - correct, however the Question was not relating to Police, the question was asked in regards to a individual. The intent is defined by the fact they have parked the car there for the sole purpose of having someone break into it / try to steal it. Therefore there is intent and therefore it is entrapment.

25-05-07, 15:30 GMT+10#35 1. the luring by a law-enforcement agent of a person into committing a crime = entrapment
If an individual does it its not entrapment because they are not doing it with intent to prosecute the person committing the crime.. which is obvious as they cant.

25-05-07, 15:40 GMT+10#36 Entrapment is not limited to a law enforcement agency.
In the situation of this original question, it is still entrapment.

26-05-07, 00:26 GMT+10#39 its undercover surveillance, you have the right to leave your property anywhere you like with out it being disturbed.
No one is forcing the thieves to go and try break into your car, I think you would have a hard time proving entrapment.
