without a doubt there is little performance gain from having an auto in a stockish vlt, highly modified 1/4 mile tearers yes, but an rb30et with a cooler and exhaust is WAY more exciting with a manual behind it no doubt

on my budget i prefer auto, as every vl ive ever been in/driven has had a clunky **** manual box and every auto one has been tight as ****.maybe if one had a quality manual box in it...

Thats good to hear. I thought dumping the clutch at limiter would just result in mega wheelspin??

Are you sure subzeros R33 went 9's on manual???, thats highly impressive for a IRS, manual car and not easy to do at all,140mph+traps, who owns that?, all the ones i remember back then where auto, c4 or glide. I'd like a manual but the vl box is puss, like driving a truck, and the 33 box is better but still shifts to slow for me, a V160 getrag out of a supra would be nice, or a tremec with a rip shifter, but your talking BIG money then. Tricked autos are a tonne of fun aswell, nothing like building boost on the brake and letting it rip up the street cheers darren Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Never driven a VLT before, but if this was N/A, 5 Speed all the f***ing way. That's not biased either. I've driven my bro's Auto Exec plenty of times, and one thing that lets it down is it's a Auto. I love mine for the simple fact that it's a 5 Speed. F*** if Autos are faster down the 1/4. Last time I checked, there are twisties too.

Auto is more fun to cruise and race, but manual is sick for corners and general driving, aswell as massive boost flutter on every gear change Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

why do you think autos are more fun to cruise? all you do is steer then! i love changing gears and using the clutch.

yeh, i swear they were auto?, i didn't think anyone has run quicker than high 10's in a R33 manual? You have me interested now i can't remember the car , there was the red one that brett owned, that turned into try9's and the other one from sydney that was red, they did with the twin 60-1's, but they were both auto. And Obehave, but that was auto aswell. cheers darren Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

They were Auto, remember there was that DVD with the burgandy one on it and it was ripping farkin massive power slides round that race track....was definately auto. Manuals blow in a VLT and Jack my friend i'd have to say that even a lightly modded one would get destroyed by a lightly modded auto VLT...case in point, any moons ago my VL was making 243rwkw-manual, tubbed1s old car was makin maybe 160ish auto 3000 stall...would take me up to atleast 100km/h before I would fly by and on the street its not very often you'll race past those sorts of speeds....soon becomes annoying looking for role ons when the auto guys wanna rip ya at the lights.... Having said that, im seriously considering going back to manual sometime in the future. Lol.
