first things first, check your gearbox oil.
the autos are notorius(sp?) for working the tranny pan bolts loose and over time dropping the oil.

That would suggest to me that its a gearbox problem.

i finally decided to call some people...and it went like this...
Firstly all of the tranny specialists i called were sure, even though they were hearing it from me over the phone, that the problem is my gearbox and worst case scenario is a full rebuild of my auto.
So than i proceeded to call for a quote on a rebuild. KEAS said they don't do rebuilds to standard specs. ALS quoted me close to 3g's for a full performance rebuild package ocnsisting of a manualised valve body 3000 stally and other stuff.
Steve from Powershift (top bloke) spoke to me for a while on the phone and tried to help me out as best as possible, he eventually recommended a local, J&J Performance. Spoke to Joe who was very helpful and quoted me 1100 for a complete rebuild to standard specs.
Called craigs automotive and quoted me 1150 for a complete rebuild as well.
I figured the J&J place sounds good as i was recommended by Powershift so does $1100 sound fair???

mate are you on drugs. dont bother getting quotes until you figure out what it ACTUALLY is. over the phone dont mean crap if they aint seen it. do youself a favour. get it towed it to a workshop or push it, drag it whatever and wait a whole 10min so they can tell you exactly where the problem is. not very hard. it could be something simple

bullshiit. workshop should like diagnosing stuff cos it gets them work. it may not be something internal but something very obvious. maybe you got unlunky and broke something that has never broken before. who knows. tkae it to someone to find out as you obviously have not a clue about anything whatsoever

even a local mechanic would point you in a right direction! No need for big workshops untill u KNOW whats needs to be replaced or re-built!
