Spools are so much fun around town, i don't have one in mine but a mate has one in his with a rb25t and i think it's most fun car i have ever driven! Yet to try one out at over 100kmh but imagine it would be fine. I don't think people actually take that much notice when the ass end chirps round tight corners either.

thank god there are people on here who think and like the spools just like me ... best way to learn how to control a car! lsd's are nice but price wise.. no thanks and they wear out! 28spline will last you awhile unless you have some serious grunt and like to drag spools on the street are fine if you dont go being a hero and booting the **** every chance you get cos it can end up ugly and then get ****ed over from insurance cos of the diff other then that... i cant wait to get one in my vr! tempa just go for it mate, if you dont like it then you will go get a lsd or detroit locker, nothing too major there mate Steve Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

pretty much everyone has said it but the other reason why i like a spool is when things get hairy u just back of and 9 time out of 10 she just straighten's up! also they take there toll on undercarage! i had 17's wiht mine and used to be a pain with the manual, but new setup is auto so shouldn't be that bad now! after i clear the pit's i'm 90% putting a spool back in!

I have never had a spool in any of my cars but every time I have made an insurance claim (and there have been a few over the years... not my fault of course. Why do people keep driving into my cars???) the insurance assessor has never driven the car so they wouldn't know what was in it. Mind you all of mine have been good enough damage to put the car into the panel shop as opposed to me driving the car to an assessor. My advice - if the damage is even remotely bad enough to warrant a tow, get one. Saves the hassle and makes the assessor visit the car at the panel shop, rather than you having to take it to them. Less risk of them noticing a spool or a loud exhaust etc... TEMPA

Inside wheels skips, chirps and shudders the car as you make a tight turn since both wheels are locked together and they both have to turn at the same speed. I have noticed varying degrees of shuddering in the cars I have now driven with spools. I think a lot could be related to the tyres and suspension on the car in question. Some I hardly noticed except for the noise of the tyre scraping and skipping over the ground, others have shaken my guts out with the shuddering.... TEMPA
