23-12-06, 21:48 GMT+10#22 great Thread dude, i'm certain a lot of ppl will benefit from it. This is some info for.....
.....SL-EXECUTIVE-BERLINA OWNERS.....: you don't have to remove the Front Grille...., with enough precaution you should easily remove the Headlights without any problems!!!.
ALSO.....you don't have to remove the HARD bits of plastic that hold the moulds in place i.e front Centre Mould. Gently pull Mould towards you and it should easily slide outwards.
Cheers

24-12-06, 19:34 GMT+10#23 thanks fleas for the input.
i got new headlights because mine were faded and the clips were rusted.
You can clean them but in my opinion, they look alot better. I wasnt too fussed that they wern't genuine.
To stop the lights pointing skywards, maybe adjust the tightness off some screws?? im not sure mine didnt need much adjsuting.
thanks for the comments boys, greatly appreciated.
for the lights im not sure how much i paid, but roughly $50 for the two blinkers, $35 for the grill and im guessing bout $60each for the headlights, so maybe $200??

25-12-06, 15:47 GMT+10#24 if anyone wants new aftermarket lights in VIC goto SSS auto spares, in cambelfield. (right near pick-a-part)
from memory they are $50 each headlight and $25 each indicator.
always happy to help bLuj3t!
Edit; ppl having problems with headlight adjusting, the little clips inside the headlight may be broken that the screws thread into, and the screws may not be doing anything when u wind them. happened to my vh..
just pull the lens off and check it out

23-05-07, 13:38 GMT+10#26 aswell, if u want to buy just new lenses, or a whole new setup,
give www.ozeparts.com.au (http://www.ozeparts.com.au) a shot, not to badly priced
very nice right up, and as previously mentioned, models without popup headlights do the exact same as the right up just ignoring step 2 where the eyelids are wound up,
cheers

23-05-07, 19:20 GMT+10#28 ive still got my original GM headlights on my Calais, so im a bit reluctant on putting aftermarket ones on it!
anyway, i sanded the headlight face down a bit, buffed them up with some paint cleaner and then again with the buffer, but used it with Autoglym glass polish. came up pretty well so its another alternative if u dont want to replace the old ones!
as i say, improve rather than remove. something ive learnt with restoring cars!
