Thank god someone cleared that up, what a load of crap. Dizzy wise you will need the factory HEI electronic one, i think they came out on the blue motors in the VH and the black motors in the VK/VL cheers darren

why would you run a 750 holley on a standard 304? before you get into this stupid idea, do some research..... a dyno run on a carby car costs the same as it does on an efi car to tune it...

EFI distributor wont work as it uses the crank angle sensor to guage when to fire. You either need a VK / VL HEI one or a special box that tells the EFI dizzy when to spark. WILL NOT work any other way!

Yea no worries man, he must of been mistaken. He most probably has an electronic distributor out of the earlier commodores.

This is totally fine in a race/auto application, but not much good for a manual on the street. The reason it will work is it has a 3 wire Hall Effect sensor. Supply it key-on power through a 5k resistor, run the factory ballast resistor wire to the signal wire, and the other wire to earth. Go the carby setup! 6 (Large).JPG (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/attachment.php?attachmentid=16069&d=1166621316) It would cost about $10K to achieve the same power output that this $2.5K setup does! Driveability is overrated Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

ignoring drivability, a massive advantage efi 8's had is the heads which flow a hell of a lot more from factory than the carby versions... you would need to spend a substantial amount on head work just to get the carby heads to come near the efi versions, which can be bought for less than $400 from a wreckers...

Spot on my friend! Efi heads plus single plane hi-rise manifold plus agricultural holley carb = lots of horsepower for not a lot of dough!!! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Ok guys got it done installed injected 5litre out of a vs maloo ute first things first dont try this unless uve got some cash or good mates who can parts. takes 2-3 days install and setup. replaced trimatic box with turbo 350 removed injection from engine and had to replace dizzy with a vk-vl hei 308 distributor dont bother with vh distributor as it did not work. used redline single plane manifold hi-winder, and used 4 barrel carby off my 253 blue engine had to install mechanical fuel pump bit of fun as i had to change the timing case off my vh 253 as the vs does not allow for mech fuel pump and also install a spindle type thing to timing gear so that it would pump the mech fuel pump not to hard engine is running fine now. only problems i have left is the kickdown on the turbo 350 and speedo cable as it was trimatic other than that everything is fine. it cost me approx $2000 to do this but it was all worth it as it goes harder now with carby as when it was injected will be putting on dyno so i will let you know and will be taking pictures and posting on myspace. my profile is vh304 if anybody wants to know but for now im going to enjoy the power and try not to lose my license.

Like I said "Been a long time since Top Fuel, Top Alcohol, Top Doorslammer ect ect have used carbie/s. Even Pro Comp are running forms of EFI now." And V8 Supercar teams would be laughing at you. But as long as your happy in the decision. I personal would not recommend this, especially at the cost of fuel these days.
