lol i only owned mine a week, head was f*cked, so got that replaced and did fan belt etc all at that time, needed two injectors and some other various ignition bits. just got it back yesterday. brakes are getting noisy, still has a miss in it, and box is on its way out... my advice is dont do what every other person is, dont buy a VL for your first car...

09-10-06, 20:07 GMT+10#23 um where to begin.
bout 4 melted pistons in 1 go, fuel pump, 3 motors with exesive blow by after rebuilds,3 blown turbos,3 bent valves, 1 cracked head, 2chewed out cams 1 oil pump. , 3 stock cluches 2 H/D clutches 1 brass buton clutch.2 blown gearbox's and a mf5 if they count,1 broken gear stick 1 tailshaft 2 center berings, a pair of xdrill front rotors, lots of rear tyres, a considerable amount of money out of my back pocket and the numorous points that ive lost in the persuit of trying to go fast
so yea i am sort of not real happy
O i forgot out of all that the most financial hardship was caused when my water pump started to leak, thought about ending it all it was that hard on me.
still geting counseling now.

11-11-06, 20:31 GMT+10#29 blown n/a diff, blow head gasket, spun big end, melted piston, warped head due to water pumps fins being eating away by rust, clutch fans, countless tyres, fixing rediculous amounts of leaks, bout to replace power steering rack, just putting in a brand new forged motor, replaced injectors fuel pumps due to failure.
most likely things to break that didn't n/a auto taken 160rwkw for months and still went strong till engine died.
all in all couldn't be happier for a 20 year old car and the amount of fun, inexpensivenss and learning experience with it and i still havn't lost a points on licence come off my p's in 3 months

20-11-06, 13:23 GMT+10#40 Worst things, in order.
R31 Skyline, recond engine and paint car in time to write off into back of honda CRV. money spent: about $7800 Insurance payed out $4900
(owned for about 2 months)
1st VL, fine for about a year, cracked head, had engine completely overhauled at kostecki, blew auto box, replaced box, Yellow Sticker for power steering leak (was not leaking but sticker cost about $1500) smashed bumper, headlight and F L wheel. fixed that then rust caused me to sell for $1800 (spent about $7000 total)
Current VL Bought from pickles for $650, ground up rebuild at my house, on road now about to finnish paint & body, building spare engine on stands. Let the fun begin
UPDATE: finally got it straight and my neighbour backed a land rover into me, wrote off both drivers side doors now fitting LE kit and prepping for full respray...
