i have a high comp motor with a t3/4 on 12 psi... runs a 12.5@108mph very considtantly on street tyres. as stated its all in the tune and they will survive if u do it right. but if you were going about getting a new motor. get a turbo one. only use a converted one if you have no cash like me. or if you are only ever going to use low boost and a smaller turbo. you cant really put a big turbo on it because you cant run enough boost to make it efficiant. and the bug WILL bite! its bitten me and now im saving for a good bottom end so i can run a good turbo.

SOME high comp setups last and the majority of them dont. thats all. now all this bloke wants to know if its worth him buying this setup for 2k. i personally wouldnt bother with it but some do last for 1 years or even longer. i say buy it, have your fun with it untill/if it blows up buts its not the best way to go about it. n/a blocks are like $200 these days anyways, when the block ****s itself it doesnt mean the turbo comp, injectors, and computer **** them selves as well.

I do have a custom turbo exhaust manifold as well so yeh.. all ide have to look for is a turbo is that the option i shuld be taking?? Carl Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Carl aslong as the pistons came out and you seen 100% they where forgies but any way for 3000 ill supply a block and head build you a fresh one with forgies, moly rings, new seals gaskets, recoed head, block bored and honed, new welsh plugs, new valve stem seals, crank grind, rods prepped and cloed and honed, new king bearings rods and mains, just bolt your manifolds and turbo on and your away, once u get me cash it will take no longer than 2 weeks i garruntee the motor your looking at wont have all that for that price Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Depending on weather he wants to sell me it or not, then i might take you up on ur offer. its probably my best bet, and for the future. Carlos Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It is 3mm thick, read- .120" thick. This would be the same as running 3 head gaskets together, or 1 head gasket and a 2mm decompression plate. On top of eliminating all of these things, the Cometic head gasket is one of the best qaulity gaskets available, they are a 3 layer metal head gasket, same thing as HKS etc, we have one in a GTR making 500rwhp on pump fuel, runs 26 psi all day everyday, standard head bolts and no O rings. Forget all this bullsh1t about compression ratio. Peopl are all going on about stuff that is purely speculation. Tell me, what do you think has higher effective compression ratio, 7.8:1 compression with 26psi, or 8.5:1 with 20 psi?? I'll tell you, the one with more boost. People just don't understand that there are heaps of cars out there running 25+psi on turbo bottom ends, so why don't you think a NA bottom end could handle 15psi stock, and 20psi decomressed?? It will be fine." looks like ill be getting the cometic 3 layer head gasket thats the same gasket im running atm on a n\a bottom end 120 tho gasket i just got a ported head, cam, stainless steal manafold. t3\t4 bb tbo vlt injectors and comp ,fule reg, surgetank coola 3" exaust ect and on 18 pound and it hasnt missed a beat with a good tune Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

iv seen many 11sec Hi Comp motors with no problems.. all comes down to the tune. most people just think that N/A motor wont last. thats all Garbage comments! most people just try and bad mouth it, but to tell you the truth there pretty good. if you after times its a different story, but hey if any VL Turbo block is after times it will need a full Rebuild aswell. if you after a nice cruiser and quick street car, A Hi Comp will be perfect for ya.

Lol there the same engine at the end of the day. Accept one has not had boost running through it for 24 years! Hi comps are what u make them. Not what u because of them. Any tool can blow up an rb30, both hi and low comp engines die by the same laws as any engne If ur building a hi comp be smart dont cut corners n it will b fine $1400 for the gear n bolt it on. If engine blows find out what YOU did n learn from it. A) build/buy new low comp engine B) sell the gear for what you payed n buy another engine $200 Things u learn it's not worth cutting corners, how to pull and put an engine in ur car Very cheap lesson in my book n well worth 200 bucks!!! Unlike building an 4500 engine n making the same mistake lol Ps yeah no $hit this is an old thread but still relivent for info

Mines high comp. 8 psi all day long. And it loves it. T4 highflow , 044 fuel pump , and did the timing myself. The comments that people say are bulli**** . Just because your mates brothers mates blew up doesn't mean anything , all depends how it's setup and driven ect. I know of more ls1's that have blown up ect. Just make sure it's tuned with a proper head gasket ect
