yea.. going 136 or 137mph is running the gt35/40 to the max.. id rather have something slightly bigger and have it on a bit less boost

What most ppl are forgetting is its good to have power but you gotta have your suspension setup pretty good to get outta the hole quickly!

DARK VL ,yes it was a trimatic, but it was originally built for runing 10s ,and it did for about 4 years with more than 100 ,10.4 to 10.6 at 132 mph passes no prob. at the time it was rated at around 300 to 350 kws,but when it gave up (third gear)it was on the first ever 9 scnd pass and on 420 kws. hugo got it rebuilt and wanted me to crack the mid 9s with it,but at the time i got a good price for it and sold it since the power glide was the plan anyway. all that was done with the 700 roller, one of the best and toughest turbos i have used.

I can't believe you got away with that many super quick passes without any reliability issues!?

what other roller turbos are rated between 800 - 950hp?? the to4z with the .96 rear housing is rated at 850hp right????

"The key is 'engine acceleration'. There is a BIG difference between how much load an engine can support (turbo combos are really good at supporting load), and and how quickly it can accelerate a given mass. A dyno will load up your engine far more than the cars weight will load it up on a drag strip. So the focus must shift from max load capability to max acceleration!" I've got this problem. 500+rwhp on a few different dynos but strip times dont go anywhere near proving it. This is on a turbo 202 with 13" rims. With 3.36 diff did 120mph terminals, with 3.55 diff it went down to 115mph. It just doesnt load up in the first couple gears. If I put 3.08 gears it will just strip 3rd gear on the box as it loads the box up too much. BTW 3.55 with 13s is like 4.11 on 15s

Leave gt42 for the strip, far too laggy for the street Well compared to your gt35/40 or to4z. I would be using gt35/40. You seriously can't beat the response of a gt35/40 imo. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Terry.
