think about it...you stripped your car down, engine out, ready to pay some guy $5000+ to spray it...why not give it a shot before you book anything? or even better hire a compressor and give it a crack haha, after all isn't that the fun part of building a car? i couldn't justify paying over 2g for a paint job personally...

hahahaha heard and seen this one before! that sh1tty methods been round for ever. if ya really really like doing more prep, sanding, brush/roller work and buffing than you can bend your mind around, by all means, give it a go fellas. and if your gunna try that, buy a cheap gravity gun and try and spray it yourself. its less work and will look heaps better.

i reckon ill stick with the gun method haha buffing a car has to be the worst thing about spray painting...even more so a whole car

Ok, if you take your car to a spray shop what are the chances an apprentice will work on it, i mean its only a VL right? However nice it might be... If you want a cheap paint job but cbf doing it yourself go to any automotive TAFE (theres one in coburg, vic) and they will paint your car professionally (3rd-4th yr apprentices) for the cost of the materials, no labour, as they need cars to "practice" on. Works out to about $500 for a metallic finish.

Why not use that dulux weather proof house paint? Then your ridiculously hairy dog and Australian sun can't **** it up. It would be.. Death proof
