whats happened he has seen you around but most likely been unable to pull you over and has gotton your reg so he will make u come in for an inspection. I dont think you would be able to get an epa because your more than 50kays from mc cleod. So id say your just gonna get a defect. You could try the bonet cable trick but he will prob just say bring it back here when you get it fixed just hide your mods throw and towel over that turbo hangin out hehe and hope for the best

All you blokes talk nothing but rubbish... Just take it down there Curtis. If I was in your shoes Id just drive down there, go up to the counter and ask if you can speak to someone about the letter you received. Say the car is out the front blah blah blah... See how you go.... Not all Hastings TMU are bad. You'll find if you make the effort to make their job easier they will pay you with the same respect.

A freind of mine had this exact same thing happen. More than likely they have have either had a complaint by a nosey neighbor or have seen you driving around themselves somewhere and have jotted down your rego and now want you to come in to them to ream you hard. My mate said he had about 5 tmu cops going over it and he copped an unroadworthy for numerous things + epa + numerous fines for his attendance. It will be interesting to hear what your out come will be though so keep us all informed. He also said the cops told him and this is dead set no bullcrap that there is a new law that they are about to have passed which is about weakening of the body by cutting cooler holes in the skirts to run pipes through. They said any holes of any sort will require an engineers certificate and even if you take the cooler off and have no cooler you are still required to have an engineers certificate for the holes. Apparently they are training the cops to look for these holes and to see if they have been welded up and bogged over and even if they have they are going to ask for an engineers certificate for the welding job and an engineer wont give a report on work that hasnt been done by a professional. Damn pricks they are.

(3) A notice must be in writing and must be served on the registered operator or, if the motor vehicle or trailer is not registered, on the owner. However, you can make it difficult for them. You should (i believe) be able to ask them where in the last 30 days, or when in the next 30 days thier resonable grounds argument comes from. Type it up, and ask for it when you take the car in. They might just show you thier traffic report, or similar and note that they suspected your car to be un-roadworthy. But i would definately ask on what grounds, and when the car was spotted. If you werent actually where they say you were, you have grounds to contest it in court Its just a bit of added paperwork for the pr|cks that they wont wanna do even if they did legitimately spot you driving along. Either way they would have HAD to write a report on it. Sadly it isnt good news, you will have to go down there. I'd certaily ring the officer mentioned and ask for what i stated above. If he cant provide it, talk to a lawyer. Hope it helps. If anyone ever needs help like this, more than happy to do some basic homework for the finding of the laws, subsections and thier interpretations. I aint no legal expert, i've just been ****ed around enough to have a passion for helping others against the law cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

A general member of the public can NOT be counted upon to report the car. The cops cant go on much unless they see it themselves. If you were doing burnouts, its your word against the member of the public. If you have a clean driving record you would in that case be 100% fine.... but progressively worse depending on how many offences. I know, ive been there Quote: Originally Posted by R31Nismoid However, you can make it difficult for them. Just on this (i have a bad habit of thinking more and more) For the "in the next 30days" its very defendable. Especially if you "unfortunately" break a diff and stuff and the car is not driveable. Therefore it can not "be used" Its a fickle argument, but thats what sneaky lawyers get paid for Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
