I mean, the GTS jumped from 220kw to 300kw from VT to VT series II. 300 to 375kw should be be the jump from VY GTS to VE GTS. ....if the GTS is even going to be released now

If they drop the LS7 into the GTS it will not have the same power output that the C6 does... Cannot wait for the HSV's to come out should be good Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The 300C and the SRT8 6.1L are pushing around 425HP right now, so a more uprated 6.0L (which is currently 297KW) is only expected. I can't wait to see what Ford do with their turbos. If the rumour has it true that Holden will be producing a TT V6 then it will be quite a competition between them both. I just can't wait for a reborn 426HEMI!! Ohhh the smoothness!!

The Callaway/HSV GTS LS1 had the same power as the C5 Z06 LS6 had. The LS2 in the VZ has the same power as the C6 LS2 has. An LS7 GTS should have the same power as the C6 Z06 LS7 has. plus, having 7L and still in the 400hp range would cause a lot of people to laugh. from carpoint.com.au » HSV gets ready to launch 6.2-litre V8 CarPoint Confidential has learned that the HSV version of the new VE Commodore will use an all-alloy 6.2-litre V8 Corvette-related LS2 with variable valve timing. The new 6.2-litre V8 will come from the Performance Build Centre in Wixom, Michigan and will be virtually hand-built. CarPoint Confidential has been told by our mole at Vauxhall that the company has already expressed interest in the 6.2-litre HSV. The V8 is expected to develop 350kW and 600Nm, with the possibility of displacement on demand. It is rumoured Cadillac is working on a supercharged version of this engine for a range-topping 'V' version of the CTS. With figures of more than 400kW in testing the engine could well see the light of day in a HSV. We have already seen a version of this engine in the 2007 GMC Yukon (a gargantuan US SUV). The Yukon is spearheading a push by GM to sell more of its large SUVs in the Middle East where fuel economy is not an issue. The export of HSV products to the Middle East suddenly becomes an easier task with this engine being available in a detuned form in the SUV range

Chrysler has an extra 0.1L on the 6.0L LS2 so I bet Chev/Holden have to do the same with 6.2L just so they can say "hey my d1cks bigger then yours"

Barry Park 9 August 2006 www.drive.com.au (http://www.drive.com.au) Don’t expect a 7.0-litre V8 for now, says HSV. Does Australia have room for a 7.0-litre Commodore? Not just yet, according to Holden Special Vehicles marketing manager Andrew McKenzie. Mr McKenzie told Drive this week that he was keen to spread the message that General Motors' Corvette Z06 engine, a 377 kW/637 Nm 7.0-litre generation-four LS7 V8, would not be part of HSV's VE Commodore line-up, which will be launched on August 21. "There's been a bit of rumour about that on the internet and chatrooms and stuff, and we don't want to come out with this fantastic new car . . . and have people say, 'Oh, gee, it would have been good to have had the LS7 in it'," he said. Instead, he said a modified version of the 6.0-litre, LS2 engine - which replaced Holden's 5.7-litre Gen III LS1 engine in late 2004, and similar to that used to power standard Chevrolet Corvettes - would also drive the new-generation HSV. (It's a different 6.0-litre V8 from the new VE Commodore range, which is designated L76.) However, the Corvette produces 299 kW of power and 542 Nm of torque, compared with the Commodore V8's 270 kW and 530 Nm. In its current HSV guise, the LS2 produces 297 kW and 530 Nm. Mr McKenzie said the LS2 engine had only recently broken ground, and there was "a little bit more mileage to be got out of tweaking and playing and developing" it. He said power from HSV's version of the LS2 would increase. "I think that if we have already come out with 297 (kW) and we didn't get more than 300, it would be a bit embarrassing to get 299 on there," he said. Displacement on demand technology - where a V8 engine shuts down four cylinders at highway cruising speeds to save on fuel consumption - was a "great option" for HSV to consider, he said, although it would not be part of the August 21 model launch. A future option for HSV beyond the LS2 engine, Mr McKenzie said, was a development of GM's LS4, a Gen IV 5.3-litre V8, producing in standard guise 226 kW and 438 Nm, with displacement on demand technology. ---------------------------------------------------------------- why would HSV put a 226 kw 5.3L V8 in a Commodore? :| unless Holden is actually making a Torana atm, and it would go in that. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

VE HSV spy pic looks pretty crappy in my opinion..... doesnt look aggressive at all, just looks... japanese.... And that rear spoiler doesnt suit the car at all But I'll have to wait untill I see one in real life or until HSV release glamor shots, and hopefully it will look better. these are some stats, supposedly: Engine output is 304kw at 6000rpm. Wheel sizes are 19x8 with 245/40R19, 19x9.5 with 275/35R19 and 20x8 with 245/35R20, 20x9.5 with 275/30 R20. 48mm offset for front and 57mm offset for rear wheels. Front brake rotors are 365 x 32mm and rear is 350 x 26mm. Tare mass Clubsport R8 1760kg, GTS 1777kg and Senator 1792kg. ---------------------------------- 304kw is also lame, as an upgrade, didnt even go up 10kw!!! .....even though they went up about 100kg

I think a few of you hero's have to remember that holden/hsv need some breathing room with the engines. If they were to bring out the fastest possible engine with the first models released what would be left for the following models? like with the Gen 3's they will slowly release more power like they did (250, 255, 260, 285 etc.) Usually just by getting rid of the tiny restrictive exhausts they put on em and opening up the breathing mods.. Also, this "biggest dic k" competition has to end eventually... I dont think we are going to see stock V8 commos comming out with 400kw in 10 years from now. It will end/be stopped eventually either by the car companies or the government...

http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/eseries/senator.asp http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/eseries/clubsportr8.asp http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/eseries/gts.asp GTS is lame, its not much more than a Clubsport... Senator looks sweet as though 0-100km/h: 4.96 seconds for manual 5.05 seconds for auto Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

They look sweet from the front. Looks absolutely retarded from the rear imo

I love the new VE HSV range, nice and original. Remeber how weird the VT looked when it came out, or how about the VY. Both of these models were a shock to the system and took some getting used to. Now every man and his dog has them and they look really cool when modified properly. i take my word back! GTS looks freaking awsome! u have to see it in flesh to actually see what it really looks like. But i doubt that she will go that fast! 0-100km/h: 4.96 seconds for manual Thats just too fast...
