25-07-06, 20:05 GMT+10#22 As long as its in guaranteed good condition.
If it was advertised for $450 I would offer $400 myself.
But for $450 it would want to be guaranteed as i have seen them a little cheaper in the past.
Because its not in a front cut its hard to look at an odometer and get an idea on the km's on it. I would pay more for a genuine low km box if there was proof of that.

25-07-06, 20:12 GMT+10#24 it's on ebay, told him i was picking it up tomorrow. i bought one off ebay last week that was a rb20 box for $52. Turns out that that one was just the same as an mf5 tho, so it wasn't as good a bargain as wot i thought it was.

Hey StockyMcStock, if you want to know something you didn't know earlier today, the R34 RB25DET GTT gearbox has shotpeened gears on first, second, third and fifth from factory plus an extra, so now twin syncros on first instead of just 2nd and third in the R33 GTST gearbox.
so the R34 box is a winnar from the sounds of it.
i was also under the impression the R33 boxes had twin synchros on 1st 2nd and 3rd but it doesn't really matter, they're just better everywhere.
looking at your pics, i can see the difference now. my eyesight must be going in old age
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

25-07-06, 20:25 GMT+10#26 whoo, having the pics to compare really show's how small the mf5 is, or how big the r33/mx7 boxis. criky what a pointless post.

26-07-06, 09:24 GMT+10#27 i sawit on e-bay and just thought, the guy who is selling this doesnt have a clue.
its either a rb25 box or a mx7 you just look at where 5th and reverse are or the size of the rear half of the box.
the mf5 or rb20 box are realy narow and just litle looking and the mx7/rb25 det box are big and chunky on the back side of them
ive had my mx7 apart and rebuilt it (cost to much never again)
and the shear size compared to a mf5 was amazing, been at a nissan dealership i was lucky enuff to have a mf5 in stock to comapare sizes, the gears and syncro's ect are masive, its no wonder they hold the power
