i think power to weight might have something to do with it.. The only way i beat the new falcons is if i wind it out in 2nd@140 (auto) and thats in a worked 8 Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Buddy, 2/1/2" exhaust all the way through is an overkill on an RB30e. Try running a 2/1/4" press bent pipe over the rear axle with the rest of your exhaust remaining unchanged. You will get more power and better acceleration from this mode. Also make sure your kickdown switch is working correctly. You should pull 70km/hr in first gear in Drive from standing start. If you want to go fast, put a decent engine in it, otherwise make it look nice and dont race people

i went from stock n/a vl to stock vlt. MASSIVELY HUGE difference... then slap on a cooler, 3" exhaust, and turn the boost up, and you wont be complaining about lancers beating you (except possibly evo's)...

lancers kill na vl's in power to weight, infact lots of small jap cars do most have over 100kw at the fly and weigh close to a tonne where VL's weigh a few hundred kg's more, plus age of motor etc.

dude i recon it was they way you drove.... id expect the guy in the lancer was thrashing his car the whole time (why the fark does he even own a lancer lol ?) and you would have just driven it relirively easily and taken off in drive and allowed it to shift gears to early. if anything the lancer should eat you at the start and then you should reel him in pretty quickly, the vl would have more torque and a better diff ratio than the lancer.' also, what model lancer was it? if it is a brand new one, like the newest model, then maybe you never had a chance but the other ones that all the chicks drive, you should munch them. also i dont want this to go too off topic but why the hell is a manual quicker??? reply in this thread if you wish to argue this some more http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=70095 oh and finally, racing on the street is bad. shame on you lol. My mate beat this kid in a lancer that thinks he's real cool with his cannon and chrome hubcaps in his mums ford festiva. No sh*t. Both manual. Pretty f*cken funny to. Plus one night we were driving into town in a mates car (will remain un-named) and he just had the ussual 2.5" exhaust, pacemakers, shift kitted auto and at that stage an XF throttle body also and this bloke in his turbo lancer wasn't getting anywhere quick at all. Ofcourse, he was infront of us but we weren't getting killed. Jason.
