im pretty sure street commodores or perth street car did a feature on it a while back, i'll try find it....it's a full sleeper
to give ya an idea my 355 makes 700@wheels on 10 psi, boost pressure has nothing to do with flow
u own psi355? original owner or did u buy the car recently? and why are u plugging brescani didnt active build your vr?
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

19-07-06, 19:12 GMT+10#27 yep i own and built PSI355 Eddy at Active Automotive built and tuned it but John at Breciani helped with the setup on my VL
ohh and thats the car i was talkin about^^^ it's Eddy's brother Bruno who did the stato, have ya got that issue of perth street car???
i think you will find either a t04 or gt35/40 will be the turbo of choice

19-07-06, 19:21 GMT+10#28 I know the gen 3's are bigger capacity, but they run 7 psi and make around 600hp with stock internals with fuel and ecu upgrades, the problem you will have with a t3 is that it will run out of puff before the v8 starts to make its own power, up in the revs it will be gutless. Twin gt35/40's with 1.06 housings on the gen 3 there is no lag and the top end is still there aswell. Its not so much about what boost you run but air quantity, density hence the cooler. Custom low mount manifolds might not be so hard to do maybe a set of extractors could be modifiyed. If you were worried about the turbos being laggy you could always go down an exhaust housing size, but I can asure you that with an extra 2 ltr capacity on the rb30et you wouldnt have a problem spinning them up from way down low.
Give lee at AVO a call or shoot him an e-mail, if his gen 3 isnt finished yet it wont be to far off but they have already done a gen 3 ute.
Good luck I want to do an XR8 twin turbo, one day.

19-07-06, 19:22 GMT+10#29 Ok so the following would be the go...?
-GT35/40
-Intercooler
-Injectors + pump
-Heltech
-Cam
Is the factory intake manifold ok for this setup? (I have bored the factory throttle body)

19-07-06, 19:36 GMT+10#30 Personally id go twins dude just for bragging rights and the looks, If your going to all the trouble for single turbo what is another 2 g for another gt35/40? I would think the manifold would be all good, my VL has standard manifolds and has no problems making 320rwkw with them. Better manifolds would be better for earlyer spool and higher power but with a stock bottom end and that they should be fine.

have a look through this site.
there is a yellow vr/vs ute a paramount performance in town here at the moment making just on 500hp at the wheels. super charged with a standard manifold. i don't know what is done internally though.

01-08-06, 12:45 GMT+10#38 what do you reckon the cost of puttin a single turbo say a to4 onto this would add up 2
BLOCK-bored 30 thou,oringed,balanced,deburred,copper head gasket
PISTONS-low comp hypatec with file back rings
CRANK-eagle H beam
CAM-crow custom grind
HEADS-flowed to 600hp,crow double valve springs,stainless valves,hdt guidplates,crane adjustable roller rockers,
GEARBOX-strengthened,rpm heavy duty clutch
DIFF-3.08 lsd
BEARINGS-perkins race series
EXHAUST-3 piece group A extractors into twin 21/2 dump pipes
all work done by pavtek in melbourne
my ute was setup for a charger but a turbo would be better

01-08-06, 12:50 GMT+10#39 To do it properly and run a 10 or whatever, for complete driveline including turbo / manifolds / proper intercooler etc... for the most budget builder may be able to do it for 11-12k.. but i'd budget 15-20 thousand. Thats doing everything 100% properly not just bolting a turbo on.
