I have said it for years on here... That the VB to VL was a year car not a series car which first started in the VN's.... You can call it a S1 or S2 no one is going to kill you over it.. yes there was different changes made over the 2 years the VL was built... nothing knew happens with every single car...

i dont care, but i have suspected this for a while, as i had an early 86 na with its original engine and it had "series two" oil\water line holes.ill still call them s1 and s2 just cause its easy and recognised.most vls these days have so many parts from here and there it doesnt matter what they originally were anyway

as has been said i think that using s1/s2 is still valid when describing a single part, you can't argue that the block with the oil/water lines is a s2, i mean it was un upgrade right (well makes it easier), and blah blah. But yeah it doesn't really work calling an entire car s2. though their are things like seats that are half and half. silly cars.

yeah because i bought another shell (1986) and all my running gear is 1988...does that make my car a S1.5? Couldn't agree with you more 87_DeVL...pot stirrer of the week!!! One question though Calais25t...if you own a sh1t hot VL like Epitaph always goes on about....why the hell tear shreads of the bloody VL???!!! I dont get it?

They were called updates or model revision. Series as such was a word never used. There were 2 model revisions to the VL in it's life time.
