A BOV is to release pressure between the compressor and throttle plate when you shut the throttle. If it's a plumb back, it returns before the turbo inlet. A wastegate bypasses exhaust gas around the turbine to control boost pressure. You have the 2 mixed up. PHS, I had cert. on a blown celica i had about 12 years ago. The guy checked the car out for about 15 mins, took $600 off me then left. Cert. arrived a few weeks later! How times have changed! He didn't even take it for a drive. UTRYIT, the ECU has EVERYTHING to do with it. It is programmable and that is why you'll struggle to get passed. Sure, it might pass the emissions test, but they (EPA) know full well you'll put it on the dyno the next day and tune it for power. As Browny said, it only takes a phone call. Give them a ring. Or just be a little 'creative' when installing you're aftermarket ECU Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Is it possible for a smart person to tune his computer to his best tune, then copy all of the tune points into a non tuneable computer? Re-map standard computer,? Come one some must be able to do something like this? Run a tune to pas epa then change computer to the same thing but a differnet tune.

88 chaser, you cant reprograme the vl ECU but you could some how get a comp off a ls1 and put the case off the vl one on top the ls1 comp is now fully reprogramable and not a bad ECU at all ? ENOTB damb my cars 86 not 76 who care's whats ten years ? MonstaS4 i wish i knew an engineer so i could pull some move's there would have to be a VL on this forum that has a CERT. and aftermarket ECU.
