07-05-06, 01:12 GMT+10#21 I was told a while ago that you should reverse park into car parking spaces cause it is harder for a little dirty kunt to sit down there while breaking in then popping you hood and that (they will be visible)

07-05-06, 01:36 GMT+10#23 i basically don't park mine anywhere I can't see it. Very occasionally I have parked it at a supermarket to pick up a few things on the way home, but yeah, pretty worried about it being flogged!

i don thave to do that now cause mines just el stocko BUT i can only imagine what half of you guys must go through when driving these things around the streets. Especially in sydney.
wait untill u spend over 20k+ on it then think about it. when u start to spend money on them thats when u sleep in them with a baseball bat inhand or u just put you rotwheeler in the back seat and feed him every 4 days then u know u can leave it anywhere ;

I think alot of you guys are paranoid. Surely if you have all this money for a nice car you can afford to get it insured for agreed value. I just think if mine gets stolen, yey! new car for me, then i can get one thats even better.
yeah mine is, but finding an immaculate s2 calais turbo 5 speed took me 6 months of hard searching and now nearly 24 months of building. For alot of us, the car is simply not replaceable with any sort of realistic insurance amount.

10-05-06, 20:16 GMT+10#30 i dont park my vls newhere besides in my garage. yes u can say what is the point in having a nice car if u dont take it newhere, but ur car wont stay nice for long if u leave people to hit there doors into it, or try to break into it etc. just get bascially no insurance on it, and use the money u save on it every year to just buy a ****ter to get around in, solves all ur problems.

11-05-06, 08:17 GMT+10#31 thats why we have a misses guy's so we dont have to get out the car if we are in town we can just sit back and chill then take it home and shed it again think about it ?

12-05-06, 12:09 GMT+10#32 i don't park mine anywhere i can't see it. I'll leave it out the front of my nan's place when i visit, but it is visible and i never leave it there in the dark. I don't ever leave it at the shops or anywhere i can't see it fullstop. I used to leave my old calais turbo at uni, but sold it and havent needed to take my current one cos i have a daily. My vl isn't used as a daily driver anyway so it doesn't "hinder the experience of owning a nice car".. and id rather be safe than sorry.

12-05-06, 14:11 GMT+10#33 i see there is alot of paranoid people on CT. i am paranoid about my cars dont get me wrong but not as paranoid as others here. i think some of you guys should learn to chill out a bit and have a bit of confidence that your cars wont get stolen.

12-05-06, 14:13 GMT+10#34 if hardly any vlt's ever got stolen, i wouldnt be paranoid, but they are so sought after and so many go missing, it isnt worth leaving it around and giving a thief the chance to steal it.

12-05-06, 14:28 GMT+10#35 yea i get what u mean erin, i dont know i must be greatful as i have had my vl for 7 years and only once someone broke a window on it and thats it, and u also know erin where i park my car, but then again i do have $3700 worth of security in it too. but all you guys need is good alarm systems and u will be less paranoid i say

12-05-06, 16:07 GMT+10#36 I think most people just prefer not to use their pride and joy as a daily driver.. whatever it may be.
If my car broke down and I was sus about anything and couldnt get a tow I'd stay with the car all night if need be... just no way I would leave it where something could happen to it.

12-05-06, 16:16 GMT+10#38 thats right but 90% of pros wont bother pinchin a VL.

12-05-06, 17:24 GMT+10#40 I'd say 'pros' would definatly target a modified VLT, considering the amount of very easy to move parts they would have on them (IE turbo, head unit, mags, etc), much easier to make some quick cash on that then sell stock parts from a newer car.
