wtf!? I say DO IT, that would be damn awesome!!! Its not always about which engine will get you more power...., Its about 'hey look at this, I have a XR6T engine in my VL engine bay' .......... hell, thats heaps more imressive than just another variant of an RB in the bay.... (which has been done PLENTY of times already anyway) Even if the RB26 is like 200kw more.

The Rb26 is not a better motor than the ford six. It is 15 years older to start with. The ford has more displacement, more modern R&D put into it, roller cams with a rocker ratio. Sure you can't spin it as hard as a 26 but it doesn't need to. Definitely something worth doing if you have the time/skill/money/drive to do so. BTW this thread has more useless comments from idiots than almost any other I have seen on this forum in recent times.

It is fine to say DO IT, I'd like to see it just as much as you guys, but the cost involved to do that conversion correctly, have it engineered and registered would far outweigh the need for more power! Remember his original comment was his mates xr6t flogs his VL!

Well its not that dare to put this mtr in. The motor cost $4000 compared to rb26 bout the same price over here. The motor is in the car was an easy fit. Just working out what box to run manual or auto. As per now the VL owes him 6g not bad for a car that will do 11s easy in a light weight vl. You guys need to lay back, how boring is an rb mtr getin really. How easy it will be to grind off the ford logo and write holden (isnt that all the factory did with the nissan motor. Any way wacth and learn.

Agree, these are a fantastic powerplant making good numbers due to modern design, cubic capacity, dohc and a well matched turbocharger. Craig, I can only assume he is going this route purely to be different? And he is willing to spend the cash!

Lol. I love these comments about rb26's being better, these people obviously dont know much about the new 4l from ford. Look at the 1035hp engine from nizpro, 23psi and 800ft lbs of torque on 98 octane, i think that proves the capabilities of these engines. This conversion would rock hard if you have the cash to blow and do it all properly, will cost ****loads, but will have an absolute bull**** amount of power. P.s listen to this my mate just won an xr6 turbo, he drew a design for michael clarkes cricket bat and clarkey choose his one himself and what do you know brand new xr6t, and he's only 18 haha

I think it is a farkin excellent idea. Granted it is more than likely going to cost more than building a quick RB30, but it will be the only one like it. For a while anyway. Some of the wankers on this site only build VLT's for attention anyway. They spend hours designing a loud as 'dose' for that sole reason. This guy is doing something new and inovative that is going to be far more interesting than just another RB30. It will get a lot of a attention and most importantly he will deserve it. The car is going to absolutely hammer and in stock form it'll eat most of the cars on here Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

it will be a good project but i can see it going into the big dollar amounts, every engine conversion cost money, and tehre is all the little fidly bits as i found out with my project an e30 bmw with an sr20, all the fuel lines, tailshaft gearbox, mouns, piping exhaust computer, diff etc, its all the little things that **** you up but i say let him research it, every single part and go for it! better yet get a td cortina and put it in that! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
