i think gas seems to be awesome, theres just a few little things like ignition timing, and dual lines from the tank etc that i need to source solid information on. the beauty with petrol is that you can come on here and get reliable combo to suite any power figure, yet gas is still to be researched as much.

so does anyone have any ideas on how you control the ignition on a straight gas car. it seems that that the ig5 is basically non existant any more. so does that mean that I basically have to buy myself a complete aftermarket ecu like a microtech and just use that for the ignition side of things, or are there other companys that produce an ignition computer? thanks to everyone for their input.

Cant you use a boost retard unit like an MSD or similar? Getting the dizzy recurved will help. BTW I spoke with the guys from Gas research when Jason's XE was out at heathcote a few months ago. Apparantly the XE was making 378rwkw with wheelspin on the dyno.

yeah any aftermarket comp is fine for gas.. but yeah your only gonna need the ignition side of things, so it can be a bit of a waste..

Ive spoken to him a few times in regards to my car and he was going to wire up+ tune a microtech in my car for me, but since looking into gas i may be changing plans, i did not know jake did gas turbo stuff before so ill go out and have another yarn to him and see what he thinks i can achieve.

Yeh well if its the same workshop were talking about then yes he has done a fue LPG turbo and he swears by it. He has a work ute with a 351clevo with turbo making 400rwhp on low boost. Once my bro get's back to me with there number ill post it up for all ppl who are interested in gas turbo conversions. Myself & bro have looked into this topic and it's the way to go in performance as u dont have 2 change tune & so on. All u do is just drive and put on the slicks and race. We are currently looking into the gas injection which is new here & see if we can connect a after market ECU such as motec & microtech too them as it's an injector but for gas. But where not sure if the gas injection computer controls ignition. But anyway ill get back to you as soon as i can dude
