Been a while since ive posted as i've moved to wa now for work. Car's still in melbourne, flying back over easter, still needs a tune so hope i can get one this time and run it. Car's done 5000 plus kms now and the turbo's fine. Will be running 30 psi with the final tune if the turbe can take it. Will post hopefully after easter with some more info.

Meh. Garret are idiots. They recently supplied me with 3 hi flow turbos(one after the other) for a vl turbo, all 3 spat oil out of the compressor cover in under 1000kms, and made 20hp less then the factory vl turbo with 2 pounds more of boost. Monsta china turbos are ****. But their are better china turbos. You just need to find someone who sells china turbos and is willing to give a PROPER 1 year warranty on them. i bought my gt42 china turbo from www.raceonly.com.au (http://www.raceonly.com.au) and i spoke to the owner and he said, if it failed with in the year, he would replace the turbo with a new one or give me my money back as long as it dosnt swallow a rock. He also told me is testing a copy gt35/40 and t04z and that they will be ready in around 3-4 months. im am going to try them, ill post back when the time comes but for around $1000 retail i cant wait!. they will be full roller bearing turbos.

Garrett are idiots hey.... So did you test oil flow after the first turbo was spitting oil out the comp cover? If you have to much oil flow the engine will over supply the turbo, and this does happen on VL's just like all other cars, especially if the bolt in the oil supply line has been changed. There are other reasons for this too. Sounds to me like Garrett weren't the idiots.

Fine ill try this again. Look. Garrett stuffed me over. all im saying is everybody stuffs up and this happens both in australia, america china etc. You cant make a decision based on a biased opinion. I dont make money of this china ****, im just saying ive had a good experience and so have a few friends that i know. My dad does alot of trade in china and their alot of good and bad, just like their is here, brands like monsta, xspower by the junk and resell it here, and tranishes the reputation of many of the honest and good sellers here in aus who buy the right product. Their is a thread on ausrotary in the tech section about the china turbo that i am using and all the success people have had with it. maybe some of you should take a look before you call me a fool. like i said im gona get a gt35r and t04z copy soon and try it and ive seen the car he is currently testing a 35r on and they look great, as good as garret from the outside anyway(dont know about the inside) im not a turbo expert. apparently the car has covered 15 000ks behind a 13b turbo and it has run 126mph on 15psi at WSID, the car has the plates CRZ 12A. turbo shows no signs of oil leakage or excessive play or noisy bearings, wheels are in perfect condition. only time will tell.

see! much nicer when we all play nice i agree with the fact that bad products can come from any company, regardless of reputation, sometimes it cant be helped. but when theres a general consensus that 99% of their products are bad, its gonna take a hell of a performance to change that reputation. gotta start somewhere i guess! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

One thing i need to ask, is do you guys go down to WSID every week? Or your local race track? see how many turbo failures their are(obviously their are many other type of failures) etc and many of the turbo failures are Garrett turbos(and of course are other brands). but no body heres anything about that? they have built a repuation and people think they are the best but they are not. My Genuine Garrett GT42R lasted on 28psi 2 dyno sessions on my car and then killed the bearings. My china turbo has seen a few sessions of 30psi now and no problems at all. People have to open their minds up, and see for them selves that a quality product can be bought. And i think people should not comment unless they have FIRST hand experience of a china turbo, not my mate blew 65 turbos blah blah blah. Also the generalisation that 99% of their products are bad is not true. Many workshops in sydney have been using the china hks wastegates and china fuel pumps for a few years now(nobody seems to notice the lack of part no.s on the bosch 044s) and they are proven. I can name 20-30 8-10 second cars that use the above gear and have been for over 120 passes and been through many engines and turbos before that stuff got wrecked.
