The Shire's reputation goes further down the gurgler Really sorry to hear about this, you took appropriate measures that would stop most thieves. Yes they simply aren't daily drivers anymore

That was a mint calais turbo.. What a damn shame...... It is funny you should mention that....Yes it is very easy just to change the plates and the sticker on the windshield. The only thing that would let the cops know if it was stolen would be if they popped the bonnet and checked the vin number, but since when do they ever do that on a random check?????? Hardly ever. So if they actually did pull over your car but it had different plates and sticker and the cops didnt check the vin on the tower then most likely the thievs got away with it, right in front of the authorities too...!!!!!! This is just a hypothetical though. You would have to be stupid or just brainless to drive a stolen vlt around knowing how much attention they get.... Good luck in the search. Cos I did report it like within 1 minute of it being taken. Guess I'll never know. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i know the guy you are talking about, he tried sussing my car out too! I was at a servo at padstow on my way to uni and he came up to me asking me all these questions about my car, asked for my number i said no, he said he was going to menai but what was more suss was another guy in a 200sx who looked like he knew the guy in the vl started following me after we got past menai.. i took him on a big drive down to the gong, he actually followed me into uni, i parked my car in the security car park, pretended to get out and go to my lecture but only walked far enough away so they couldnt see me.. i called up uni security, ran back to my car as i could see the guy in the 200 approach it, as well as 2 guys in a pulsar that had followed me since the freeway, they saw the security guards and me running back and got in there cars and took off.. after that i never ever left my car at uni.. the same night though mum and dad came home late at 2am and saw an N14 pulsar parked down the bottom of the driveway with 3 guys in it, which is really weird cos they live on a private road that no one really knows about.. the thing is though that on my license it still said i lived at their address as i didnt change it when i moved.. so i was thinking someone dodgey is working for the RTA that can get names from numberplates or something similar..lucky my car wasnt there.. honestly have as much security as you can, most VL thiefs are actually VL enthusiasts, it is too damn easy to get around immobilisers, anyone can do it, especially when you know VL's inside out. My garage is physically impossible to open from the outside.. It freaks me out cos i used to leave my old calais turbo, the maroon/silver 5spd at the top of my parents driveway for nearly a year when i still lived there and i never had a problem.. I flip out when i see people following me, sometimes i wish i never got my gun license cos i know if i saw someone taking off with my baby i would have no hesitation in shooting them.

Farout freaky sH*t.... Ppl From now and on Neva leave your VLT out the front of your house or at the side (wherever) unless you hav very very high security both in the car and at your house around the car...

There was this one guy who was driving along side me on the Wednesday arvo before my car was stolen. We were cruisin through the Bankstown/Padstow/Menai area. He also had a very nice calais turbo. It was the same colour as the dark metallic blue colour on the VY commodores, with a half walky kit. Anyway, we swapped numbers and he called me asking heaps of questions about the car. Like the condition of the motor and car in general and if i'd had any problems with it. That night the car was stolen. I've been told it's easy to find out personal info on people through their mobile number if you know the right people. Maybe it was him, maybe it wasn't but it seems pretty suss to me, or am I just paranoid? LOOK for that guy, Follow him around, He might be stripping it as we speak, Might even lead you to it, Or his house might have some parts.

you should have chased them in another car or a couple of cars.... and you know if they drive down the street normally cops arent gonna pull them up but if you chase them they are gonna try to get away, its crap feeling i know i had my dirtbike stolen in a store room right next to my bedroom i woke up for work got in my car and saw the store room door was open and no bikes. don`t even tell your mates full details about your car, all they have to do is tell the wrong people information and ta ta car.

im so infuriated by car theives, when i was 17 someone tried to steal my vn calais, but couldnt because of the upgraded calais security (thankgod it was a calais) so instead stole around 2500 worth of stereo, subwoofer, cd's, cash, and a $500 precision pair of digital scales...****ing pricless scales they were, could measure to .001 og a gram. i miss my scales All this happened in broad daylight on a busy suburban street, they smashed a window to get in, alarm started blazing after the opened a door but i couldnt hear it from my house which is down a hill from the road, but yet they still managed to have time to take 2 12 inch subs from the boot, and my stereo, which was poorly secured so that was my fault i guess. fuc kers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The guy that i saw was lebanese looking. Its guess it's my stupid fault for giving my number to him but like miz vl turbo said it could be someone at the RTA and all they need is your plate. I just thought he was another calais lover and he wanted to chat about them. When I get my next calais turbo, every time i have to give my adress Ill give one of my relatives or mates adresses. There's no way the RTA or any mechanic shop of any description is getting my address. Hopefully that will throw would be thieves off.

dont sit around, the car isnt gonna come back by itself. Use your brains, for example you could ring his number and act like u want to sell your car to him for cheap as you need the cash, if it was him who stole it he will know you dont have a car and will either act suss or tell u to get ****ed or something, which might give u a better idea of if it was him or not. trick the sillly ****.
