I don't see how building a 14 sec n/a is rewarding, sure its a challenge, so is trying to build a reliable 12 sec street vl turbo and running it at our age, why not do that? To be different you say? If you wanted to be different why buy a vl?
Out of the 2 (14 sec n/a or 12 sec turbo) i sure as hell know which one is going to be more fun and which will give a whole lot more back on resale.
Power is power in the end, who cares how you get it, as long as it burys you in the seat enough to put a smile on your face then nothing else matters. All i know is a 14 sec n/a would never do that for me, nor most people on this forums. I'l keep on trudging on trying to build my streeter thankyou.
But who says it isnt possible to get 12 seconds out of a N/A?
Like you said if it burys you in the seat nothing else matters not even the cost.
I would be more then happy if I ever got my N/A running in the 12s.That would put a huge smile on my face.

05-02-06, 09:07 GMT+10#22 yeah thats assuming it is even possible this side of 20k worth of engine work?
If you can do it though, all the best to you! a 12 sec n/a would be insane especially manual. Personally i would rather strap on a turbo, get my 12 that way then save the rest for a house

I probably would never do it lol.
I have a V8 set in my mind but a 12 N/A does sound quite insane, imagine what it would sound like though?
If I was going to do it I would definately do it in a manual.

05-02-06, 19:40 GMT+10#26 You wouldnt need to touch the bottom end at all i'd imagine. It would be a matter of sorting out an induction system to force as much air in as possible and thats about it.
cutting a hole in the bonnet or front end and running a straight pipe from TB straight to outside where it scoops in as much as the flowing air as possible be best. Exahust note Would probably sound pretty bad...
but yeah Rover has the quickest N/A that I know of so far...

08-02-06, 13:06 GMT+10#30 There is 11 sec 202's out there that are N/A, so its most definitely possible with a RB30. But as said above, the improvement that a turbo gives with little expense is without a doubt the best way to go. And I'm tipping you N/A supporters haven't been in a decent VLT, because I have changed the minds of people who own 400 chev's after going for a spin.

All out? I thought he just had a stock rebuild and all he had was a microtech, fairly sure.
I don't know, I'd like a 14 second n/a.. Just like I'd rather a 14 second gemini over a 12 second xr6t
I sometimes question why people build quick cars.. When the speed limit is 60 most of the places we go. Why bother?

the guy who ran 14.2 has 132rwkw, now if you can pull off from what 89rwkw to 132rwkw good luck to you.
i have a big rwkw na rb30 yet for me to get to where the bloke with 132rwkw is it will cost me heaps yet pretty close to it already.
