Hey mate do you know whats the best width to have on the back to get a big dish. What sort of dish would 9inches wide give?
I'm dicussing this with Simmons at the moment, when you go to a 9" rim they add half an inch to each side. I'm getting 8.5" on the rear with the outer dish being half an inch wider and then they will machine the centre hub a 1/4" so the rim sit's 1/4" closer to the inside if you know what i mean. I decided to go this was way after measuring up how much clearance i currently have with 16x8 Simmons.
If you ring them they will fax you a sheet showing where to measure to see how big you can go. You can also discuss with them the different options of machining the hub to get a bigger outer dish ect.
E-mail ALLuSiOn with what your after and your details and Simmons will call you.
I dont know how long this offer will be around as I am not making money from Simmons and hence I cant afford to pay for advertising here for that long, all I do if pass all your details on as SLE355 has said and simmons do the rest. I am the middle man passing the deals onto this forum
Any chance on getting them to NZ lol ;-)
well im in sydney in may would the deal still be going then??
im after some fr17's what width do you guys think would be best on my vl berlina??? im not really sure on what would fit :-P
I thought I'll answer a few questions that were asked here about the 9 inch rears here.
With a vl turbo diff there is no way 9 inch rims will fit as they will hit the guards but if you use a sailsbury or a nine inch set to sailsbury offset, they will fit as long as you use an adjustable panhard rod.
Here is a picture of 18's x 9 on the rears

I really would like a 19 inch set but can you tell me how strong they are comparing them to 18 inch rims against potholes ?
