31-01-06, 15:14 GMT+10#23 champion, this worked a treat!
VL_Nick: i had the same problem as you (the fuel guage will work/not work reguardless if its under 1/4 tank)
but this seamed to work fine. i fixed it as i had hardly any fuel, then went to fill up, worked no worries.

06-07-06, 21:49 GMT+10#26 You do realise that if you put S2 inserts in a S1 dash that when your speedo reads 100 your only doing 80 dont you? S1 and S2 tacho's have a different sweep and hence have differently spaced markings.

maybe the gauge is faulty and jams when you go around a corner, or a loosw wire

reflowed em all fuel guage now works perfect and am actually getting a spped sensor signal so the box is now working properly too.
good result for an hours work!
Did this fix your overdrive on your auto gearbox, is that what you mean when you say "the box is now working properly too"??
My brother is having problems with his overdrive working intermediately, so hence we think it electrical. And this may be the fix as its not reviecing any speed signal??

11-08-06, 17:05 GMT+10#33 Stuff all that, this is another alternative without having to remove the dash or cluster
took me about 30 minutes to drill hole and wiring, works very good.
I filled the tank up to the max (3 clicks on the bowser), and travelled 55km, the gauge reads 3/4 & a half, which is very accurate, because my car gets 400km to a tank (I tried it and my car died at 410km)
although this option does come at a cost of having to purchase a new gauge, which I got on eBay for a decent price.

01-09-06, 23:10 GMT+10#36 by this 1/4 tank thing do you guys mean it runs out not long after it goes under the 1/4 if so thats what mine does it runs out about half was between 1/4 and empty as the wife found out the other day lol... will either of these methods fix this or is it my sender?

02-09-06, 09:19 GMT+10#37 no this is when the gauge just drops out and you have to bash it to get it to work again
sounds to me like the sender unit in the tank is stuffed or even the gauge it self.

02-09-06, 18:34 GMT+10#38 My guage reads 1/4 of a tank when its empty, is this a fuel gauge problem or sender unit issue, any ideas would be great. cheers

(Although i think i didn't do up that round shaped bolt on the back of the PCB hard enough. Becasue now my Oil Gauge ain't working at all when it did work. Hehe)

03-09-06, 22:13 GMT+10#40 I did the external wire trick on mine today, didnt seem to make any difference but I guess there was nothing wrong with it to start with. At least it wont stuff up on me now!
