will also run tiny LEDs(like alarm ones but better quality and not as bright) on circuts after fuses so will light up when all is well, and then i plan to mount on a peice of polished alloy/stainless plate with relays mounted nicley in it it should look pro.
will keep ya posted
any update on this mate? with pics?

I've looked at doing this recently but thought about a narrow case with the
fuserail & relays all in a row under the glovebox. Have a few pics of two
people that have put it in glovebox, one local from a rebuild from a fresh
clean body shell and another guy who made up a bracket.
Interesting that revneck finds it possible to slide the old fuserail through the
existing hole - it didnt seem to be big enough - without at least cutting the
supports - so very interesting it went through - step by step pics of that
would be good.
But I disagree with revneck re the "cut and join" mentality in so far as its
correct you wouldnt want to do that in the engine bay or outside for
the obvious reasons revneck indicates but where the fuserail is located in
a box (with cover) in engine bay or for systems in the dash it should be ok
If you are going to move the fuserail, you might find it useful to use the
relay holders on the old fuserail (provided its not warped a bit), I also offer
the slip on holder board along with LEDs which you can either wire to the
respective relays or to other circuits for diagnostics. You would think that for
the relative cost the designers of the electrics would have the sense to add
some useful diagnostics but then would that be asking too much,
Pic of holder/leds for reference
Cheers

Mike the fuserail will fit through the hole in the firewall its just a pain in the ass, have to squash the wires and be very patient as it can get very frustrating, worst part was cuttin the grommet apart.

Mike - I pulled my harness through into the glovebox aswell - had no problems fitting the standard fuserail through the hole. Took a little bit of manuvering, but it came through without too much fuss.

All sounds like fun you guys, what did you do with the relays around the
outside of the old position ?
Some people cut the box and use the sides to hold the relays on the plastic
slides...

i think the user SNAKE has done this,
yeah i have done this i just manouvred it through the firewall and fibreglassed, bogged and painted the hole. i have it set up in the old air con box so you can get to it from under the dash but i'm changing it very soon by getting rid of the blower fan and air con box and making a box up to mount up under the dash. then they will be accessible behind the glovebox. just haven't had the time to do it as of yet
pic: i hid the wiring on that side while i was at it
just have to do the wiring on the other side now

very nice layout snake, maybe get a few pictures and sell your story/set
to Street Commodores
The article in Sept 07 edition is two pages (128,129), brief but informative enough,
doesnt make any suggestions as to what to do (yet) re the pile of relays
and the fuserail in the glovebox - many options for that I guess up to others
to do as they see fit. I was thinking of some logn rectangular housing under
the glovebox as I still use my glovebox for all sorts of things when camping
and now realise its really worth while my also moving fuserail to free up some
space in engine bay for some more equipment
Have set up a sub folder on my web page, will add to it later maybe with
some more indepth pics of various bits when I get around to moving fusebox
too:-

Neat place to put it, some under dash lighting and fuse fail lights would help
you out in that location

lol i was talking to liam about it and sent him some pics before he did it to his car. i haven't seen how he ended up doing it though i might have to get the mag
i'm having trouble with photobucket but i'll get some pics up of the new setup very soon. ended up getting rid of the blower fan and air con box altogether and used the air con box mounting bracket to mount a board to the dash that the fuse rail is bolted to. trimmed it in some carpet and cut out a hole behind the glovebox to see it and its done, fuses can be accessed with the glovebox open or removed. also the glovebox is still fully useable. i'll get the pics up when i can

Great, want to see that but I want to keep my aircon, wonder if a recess
in the aircon box would be the best of both worlds...
