hahahahha locked diff in a daily driver, that would be interesting. So i just take the diff centre out, that involves removing the axles right? and what about also doing this in an old ****ty sigma? What exactly do i weld, anyone got a picture of the breakdown of a diff? My mates dad is doing the welding, as he is a welder by profession

its not like these cars are licenced anyway, and its for use on a private farm, so its not really illegal. But i agree on the streets its dangerous

hey everyone for those interested the diffs welded and back together. Thanks to Jet 6, i followed your guide the whole way. Ended up using stainless steel rods as that was all that i had available, worked ok, slight cracking but nothing major. With the emount of weld in there it wont break anytime soon. One question though. I got a temporary movement permit to drive the car on the road. If i drive it like a granny is there still a chance the axel could snap? or does that only really happen when you flog it? thanks for all your help

avoid doing slow tight turns .. really strains the axels and such... other then that, you should be fine

Why dont you just lead fill the diff centre? Is heaps easier to do and will never break!
