02-12-05, 01:08 GMT+10#26 people tell me if its just me or the orange and green engine bay just looks wrong? ok youve gone full on on the car and spent all that money, u have a chopped front with calais lights and u have clear tail lights with sl garnish wich uve actually painted orange and put a turbo badge in the midle, and then u got sum 20" wheels on the car that make the car so high that you can drop the tranny without jacking the car up, sorry man just my opinion, with that money spend that car could of been one of teh nicest vls out there

04-12-05, 16:17 GMT+10#30 offtap yeah it has a chopped front it has another bar that is going on once the cooler piping is done, so what if it has a sl garnish its a berlina with a calais front not a f*cking calais. i like the green i dont care what u or anyone else thinks i built it to make me happy not everyone else. it has 2 inch rising blocks under the rear springs so it could get on a trailer without scraping, soryy i put the badge is the wrong place, fu*k, the thing is orange its not a factory car, as the title says its a project car in the making, ride height, new front bar and other sh*t will be finished after the car is done at rajabs. sorry ur a bit pissed cos i dont wanna swap my 20s 4 ur poxy 17" wannabe fr simmons. fr's r hot when there 18" or 19" not 17s that wannabe 18s
frcd-6 the gauges were all up about $3,500 with gauge cups and sh*t but i bought them over the 2 year built period, i got a bit addicted!!!!
hsvtrev im thinking bout removing the stickers, but the engine bay and taillights will stay, i like em, cheers, John.

Geeze mate, there was no need to have a go at QFFTAP. You asked for people's oppinions and he gave you his. Did you think that you were going to have everyone giving you a headie and telling you how good it is.
If you asked for feedback then you have to expect some criticism.
I personally don't like the green and orange together either. But I can see that a lot of time and money has gone into the car and I appreciate that. I also think that about 90% of those guages were a waste of money and probably will never get looked at. But if you like guages and have the money to burn then thats great.
Goodluck with the car. I'm sure that it will be a weapon when it's completed.

10-12-05, 21:19 GMT+10#34 i don't care if everybody likes i don't care if nobody likes it but im sick of everyone saying they dont like the green and it has a calais front and a berlina rear. who cares? i dont like standard cars but i don't post crap like ur badge is in the wrong place! as for the gauges they will be looked at speedo oil temp & press water temp fuel level clock r in all cars. fuel press is critical as is nos press, i like to know how hot my $3500 trans is getting, likewise my diff, the pyrometer is prob the most important guage in the car and i want to know if the car is running lean with the air/fuel ratio guage, also what boost press im running and how many revs im doing. i don't have money to burn i have gone without a lot to ensure this car hasn't had any corners cut so i resent that comment. also he made fun of the ride height when it had nolathane rising blocks in it to get on and off the trailer at rajabs and the front bar is cut but will be replaced when the cooler piping is finished, hence the title sickvl: project car in the making, i dont want to offend people but read the whole article before posting, cheers, John.

20-12-05, 22:13 GMT+10#35 UPDATE:
the car is no longer for sale the turbo set-up has been sold as has the 2 speed glide, they r being replaced by a built trimatic and to4 on standard manifold, i am also going to run a microtec instead of motec. this is so i can get it on the road as im sick of it sitting in the shed. the front bar is being replaced as i now have the cooler piping fitted and the stickers have been removed. i will post up new pix of the progress in the next few days, cheers, John.

27-12-05, 22:46 GMT+10#39 sorry mate it was just a joke, i did buy the gauges.
it was a comment made in relation to the fact that i have 15 autometer gauges in the car, by another member.
they cost me over $3,500 all up including cups and s**t.
will have pix of the body without stickers and sitting at its real ride height.
new front bar is being painted as is my bonnet but i need a bit of help.
i am thinking of putting a walky scoop on her but i'm not sure let me know yes or no if this is a good idea.
im not going to put any other body kit on it just the scoop, the bonnet will be cut to vent out hot air not just for show, cheers, John.

27-12-05, 23:00 GMT+10#40 without a lower body kit the walky bonnet will look very out of place.
Great to hear that you have removed the stickers, although i hoped you did that for yourself and not cos everyone else told ya to
Those taillights are the only thing that really bug me, the stickers are meh its going for the race look, the green in the engine bay isnt bad...i mean its an engine bay and a dam clean one that stands out at that! Its not like everyone is gonna see it anyway....but the tail lights are awful IN MY OPINION. That car is of such a high engine/paint/worksmanship quality that those ****ty clear indicator p plater ****box tail lights simply dont work in my personal view. Tint em and the garnish and it will be a VERY mean sight.
Post pics without the stickers mate
