just because you have a glide doesnt mean your revs are high with standard rear end gearing. the ratio's inside the box are different. a bloke with 3.45 gears in his vlt with a glide sits on about 3k at 100km/h

How would it be for the strip if the setup was like that?

Bumping this thread again rather than make a new one. Ive been thinking about transmission choices and figure 2 speeds are fine if I never have to worry about it breaking. What size stall convertors do people with glides generally run behind their RB30's? Are they alright to cruise with to and from the track? Say if I decided to drive up to heathcote which is like 2 hours away? What other costs are involved other than the actual box? New bellhousing, crossmember and tailshaft? Anything else needed? How much bigger than a jatco are they? Thanks guys Dan

bumping up thread once again! had a good search and cant find much info about stalls people are running... seems to be alot of ppl running around the 4000rpm mark with 3.9 or higher gears. ive got a glide behind my 202 and i hit full boost at around 3500ish rpm and atm has a 2800 stall which wasnt designed for boost, so obivously its a bit of a ****ty match lol, the cars a mega slug until its on boost! what kind of size and type of stall would i be best going for? i dont care much bout drivability, but just wanna get an idea of what to look for. how high would be too high? any help would be great! cheers!

Mines got a 3800 stally behind it and still the stock 3:45 gears. Its fine to drive anywhere, even through twisty sections of road they use for Targa here.
